Yeh Hai Jalwa on 9X will mark your debut as a television host. How nervous are you?
This is the first time I am hosting a reality show, and that too a dance based one. Dancing is something I immensely enjoy so I am not exactly nervous, but yes a little anxiety is there as it's new territory. I hope I can live up to the expectations of my fans.

Are you looking forward to co-hosting the show with Smriti (Iraani)?
Yes, co-hosting with Smriti is something that I am really looking forward to.

Considering the two of you are the most popular female leads on the small screen, will sharing screen space together be an additional benefit for the show?
Both of us are putting in our best efforts in our new roles as anchors. The rest is for the audience to see and decide. But yes, people have always liked seeing us together and we will be sharing screen space together after a long time.

What are your views on reality TV, which is currently the most popular format on TV?
Reality shows have given Indian television a new dimension and they are here to stay. With reality TV coming in, audiences now have the power, through voting, to actually affect the proceedings of a show. This active participation makes them an integral part of the show.

Since you love dancing, how come you chose to host this show rather than participate in it?
I'm simply lazy! Hosting a dance based show meant having all the fun without going through the stress of competition.

You have been playing the role of Parvati since years now... do you want a break from Parvati's character?
Seven years and five months to be precise! Kahaani... has been a long and pleasant journey for me. Fortunately, the character of Parvati got re-invented many times, which always satisfied me creatively as an actor. I also thank my viewers whose love and appreciation helped me come this far.

You are one of the few actresses who keeps a low profile. Is that a deliberate move?
Well, it's not exactly deliberate, it's just that most of the time I have nothing to talk about, that's all!
