Prachi surprised on winning best actress
Prachi Desai, who won the Best Actress award at The Global Indian TV Honours, says she was pleasantly surprised over her victory.
Admitting that she was not expecting it, she says, "When I got it, it came to me as surprise. I could not believe it for a second. This is my first award of the year and that too from Balaji so it is like a blessing from them to me."
On the other nominees, Prachi says, "Sakshi is a great actor and I am a huge fan of hers so I was expecting her to win. On the other hand Divyanka, Rajshri and I entered the industry at the same time. They are also good actresses but I think my hard work paid dividends."
Prachi also performed with Shah Rukh at the function. So what was more exciting – winning the award or shaking a leg with SRK? "Both. It was a great feeling to have won an award and at the same time it was amazing to perform with SRK. I literally had fun and surprises that day," says the elated actress.
About quitting the show that won her the award, Prachi comments, "When I signed my debut film, it had a clause which says that I cannot do TV until I finish shooting for the film. So I am taking a break from the show for 3-4 months. Within two days I will start shooting for the film in Mumbai itself. I have finished shooting for some bank episodes of the show and I am on a break for two days. I do not know what is going to happen with the character. It is a completely the creative team's decision."
Meanwhile, Prachi is not going to appear for her F.Y.B.A exams. "I cannot leave such an opportunity. May be I'll think about October but March exam is impossible. I may also try to do correspondence."
Prachi got the award from Shah Rukh and Saif Ali Khan in the show. Ronit Roy won the best actor.
