Vansh and Tariksha have a conversation which leads Vansh to realize that Vidhya will be the only person who knows who killed Shlok. Nithika and Manav plan to celebrate their first wedding anniversary and Poornima is told by Sidharth that her niece is coming back to India to visit them.
Vansh Katha – Episode Thirty Nine
(Fifteen years ago in Prison)
Anuradha: When they told me I had a visitor I didn't expect another criminal.
Sidharth: It's nice to see you too Anu.
Anu: Don't call me that you bas***d!
Sidharth: Language, language.
Anu: Cut to the chase Sidharth, what do you want?
Sid: Where's the boy Anu?
Anu: Go to hell.
Sid: See you already put me there by making your son the sole heir to your empire. Now I want to know where he is so I can get what's rightfully mine.
Anu: Are you listening to the words that are coming out of your mouth? What happened to you Sidharth? When did you become such a monster?
Sid: Now you listen to me. I didn't go through all this trouble to get nothing!
Anu: Oh and it's my fault that you killed your brother and blamed it on me?
Sid: I was desperate and…
Anu: So you betrayed the woman you love? Oh wait, you were never in love with me were you?
Sid: What I don't get is how your companies are still running without someone to take care of them.
Anu: How stupid do you think I am Sidharth? I've taken care of everything so that the business can function at its best even with me behind bars. Looks like you sold me too short after all. And you can't touch a damn thing or even try to contest the reign of my empire while I'm locked up in here because the law has taken care of everything. Guaranteed, it's the same law that was so unjust to me but at least it did something right.
Sid: You think you're so smart don't you?
Anu: Think? Ha ha ha ha ha!!! Wrong Sidharth, I know I'm smart. You're forgetting that I ran all those companies single handedly before you locked me up in here, I'm Anuradha Rao and I was this country's most renowned businesswoman! You don't get to be called that unless you have a few tricks up your sleeve.
Sid: So you never really loved me either?
Anu: That's where you're wrong Sidharth. You just judge everyone by your own standards don't you? Well tough because we're not all the same. I was a fool for love but when it comes to anything else I'm still as wise as hell.
Sid: Looks like these prison walls have made you stronger somehow.
Anu: Wrong again Mr. Singhania! I was always strong. I just let my guard down for you, I made an exception for you because I gave you my heart. You messed with it an now I'm not letting my guard down ever again.
Sid: Listen to me…
Anu: No you listen to me! You can take your stupid sales pitch and get out of here Sidharth because you're never getting your hands on my son. He will be safe and as far away from you as possible and when the time comes he will destroy you for what you've done to me, this is my promise to you!
(Present day – Devyani's House)
Vansh: And promises aren't meant to be broken. Sidharth and Poornima Singhania are next and they won't know what hit them.
Devyani: But have you planned your course of action? I mean if you try to get to them from the company then they will find out, it's too risky.
Vansh: I know and that's why I won't even try doing that. I do have something else planned.
Devyani: Do tell.
Vansh: I can't say anything for sure right now Badi Ma but all I know is that it's very crucial that I meet Vidhya Chopra.
Devyani: WHAT? What on earth for?
Vansh: Right now she's the only person who can help me.
Devyani: You're going to a madwoman for help?
Vansh: Because she's the only one who can tell me who pulled that trigger.
Devyani: What are you talking about?
Vansh's phone rings.
Vansh: Hello?
Nithika: Anirudh hi it's me!
Vansh: Hey how's it going? Happy anniversary by the way.
Nithika: Why thank you. You are coming to the party tonight right?
Vansh: Are you kidding? I won't miss it for the world.
Nithika: Hey I called because I need a favor.
Vansh: Name it.
Nithika: Well my cousin Shastra is arriving today and dad was supposed to pick her up but he had this meeting and mom is too busy getting the house ready for her and so they asked me but I can't really go with all the things that need to be done for the party tonight so I was wondering if you could please pick her up from the airport for me?
Vansh: Not a problem… Consider it done. Wait, how will I know who she is?
Nithika: Oh crap, I totally forgot about that. Um… Well I have no way of sending you a picture and she probably looks very different now anyway. Hey I have an idea. Why don't you hold one of those boards with her name on it?
Vansh: Nithika!
Nithika: Oh come on… You don't need to get me a gift if you do this… Please!!!
Vansh: Fine, fine… What's her full name again?
Nithika: Shastra Arora.
Vansh: Great, ok I'll do it but you so owe me.
Nithika: I promise I'll get you the best gift ever when you get married.
Vansh: Just can it ok.
Nithika: Ok… See you later and thank you so much.
They hang up.
Vansh: I have to go to the airport.
Devyani: Alright… I'll call you later then?
Vansh: No it's Nithika and Manav's wedding anniversary party tonight and I'll be with everyone there so it's best if I call you later on. Do me a huge favor though…
Devyani: What?
Vansh: Call the asylum and ask them to put Vidhya off treatment for a few days before I go to meet her. I want her to be at least a little sane when I ask her who shot Shlok Singhania.
At a nearby Mandir, Nithika and Bindiya are walking out after a pooja.
Bindiya: I can't believe how fast this year has gone.
Nithika: Tell me about it. It's like we were in one of those stupid soaps and the writer just gave us a one year leap.
Bindiya: Ha ha ha. Our lives have been a bit soapy though don't you think.
Suddenly Nithika froze where she was standing.
Nithika: Well if they weren't before they sure as hell will be now.
Bindiya: What? What are you..?
And Bindiya saw why Nithika had frozen. Standing before them outside the mandir was Raket Sarin.
Nithika: Raket… What are you doing here?
Raket: Hi Nithika… Bindiya how are you?
Bindiya: Good I suppose, under the circumstances.
Raket: Good.
Nithika: You've been gone for almost a year now. You don't write, you don't call and suddenly you just pop back out of no where.
Raket: Sorry about that old friend. Thing is that I was going to be away for much longer but I needed to come back to meet someone here in Bangalore. I'll be leaving again soon.
Bindiya: Well while you're here why don't you come to the party tonight?
Raket: What party?
Bindiya: It's Nithika and Manav's wedding anniversary today.
Raket: Oh well in that case congratulations.
Nithika: Thank you.
Raket: But I'm afraid I can't come. I need to finish my work here and be gone again. I was passing by and I saw walking down so I thought I'd say hi.
Nithika: Well it was good to see you again.
Raket: Good to see you too. I'll try to keep in touch this time.
Nithika: You do that. We've got to get going now, lots to do.
Raket: Alright then.
They parted ways and Raket took out his phone, dialed a number and waited for the person on the other end to pick up.
Raket: Hello. Yes I'm here. I don't have much time, I have to get back to Mumbai as fast as possible. I did as you asked and I got the documents that you asked for. The research was good and you're not going to believe the results. See for yourself when I give them to you.
He hangs up.
Raket: Watch out Vansh… You're in for a bumpy ride.
