'Big Boss' cry baby, Rupali Ganguly has finally something to cheer about her. The "Max Life Insurance" commercial, in which she has acted has been nominated for the best Hindi language ad category at the Emmis.
"It's a matter of great pride that my work has been noticed internationally," said the actress who has a double graduate degree to her kitty.
As for winning the award, she says, "I am not thinking too much about the award per se, becaue get nominated every year in all kinds of categories, but never end up winning even a single award."
On a more serous note, Rupali who was more in the news thanks to her on screen spats with item girl, Rakhi Sawant said " being a realistic, I know that it will be a tough competition, but do hope that I win this award as it will give my company the much needed recognition and above all it will be a fitting tribute to the hard work, my entire team has put in.
Talking about the commercial Rupali said "it was no mean task shooing in beautiful Kerala with wild elephants and equally 13 wild children, but, I have to thank Max Life for having the confidence in me."
So is she already picking up her ensemble, which she will wear for the grand finalle" what yaar I have not even decided, if I will go or not. As for the outfit, it surely will be a sari, as I always wear this eternal Indian outfit for all formal occasions. What about the acceptance speech ?
"unfortunately only the company executives, will go to podium, but had I been there I would not followed the tribe and thanked my parents. I don't need to publicly display my love for my folks; they already know much I adore them."
To be frank when I was informed that I had been nominated for the Emmies, my first question was what is Emmie? then my friend said babes it's the Oscar equivalent of television, only then it began to sink in. Guy's you got to believe me, I am a perfect epitome of a 16th century ghatan, in all these matters.
So what more easy acting, or commercial making "baba, acting ka kida is my blood, so it my much more easier and makes more money. As for commercials, I do it to keep my grey cells busy. Its sometime takes us day's at end before we can think of a single concept and we have to submit of hundred of them, before one is finally selected.
In closing Rupali said "it really hurts for post Big Boss whenever people meet her they expect her either to start weeping or putting up an attitude, when in truth I am neither, all the people close to me will vouch for that. Some folks also accused me of playing to the galleries in the above reality show, which again is totally false. I spoke my mind, if it hurt somebody, so be it." - (SAMPURN)
