Parvati raised Shruti all her life as her own daughter - for her Shruti IS her own flesh and blood. And this talk of "blood relations being REAL" is regressive and very narrowing. Parvati cares about Shruti more than she does about Gayatri. And believe it or not, Shruti cares about Parvati more than Gayatri does too. You can only be so mean and hurtful to those whom you consider your own - why would you hate someone with such intensity if they had no place in your life?
Wow Vasu, very well said.👏👏👏 Totally agree with u, ur absolutely right.😃 For Parvati, only and only Shruti is her daughter,😃 no matter how bad or strained their relations are today,😭 Parvati has only one daughter, Shruti.😃 True, she may care for Gayatri, but somehow u just can't have the same feelings for someone you barely know or haven't brought up, even if it is your own child. I love the way this bit was presented in Kahaani,😃where Parvati just suddenly didn't go crazy about Gayatri and ignored Shruti totally... she has always been Shruti's mom before Gayatri's,😃 I loved the way it was shown. I mean, check out Kyunki where suddenly Bhumi had disowned Tanya and went chasing Nandini as her mom recently, it was unbelievable and it would have been similar if Parvati's feelings for Shruti had changed suddenly, I'm so glad they didn't show that. 😃Gayatri may be Parvati's 'own' daughter,😉 but Shruti is Parvati's only daughter😃 and that's the way it should be, I think they showed it perfectly.👏👏👏

I totally agree here, for me i also see Shruti and Paro - mother/daughter
Also i see Ashu's as Parvati's son, Parvati as Ashu's mom, i would love to see them explore this further, i loved it before the leap,

That really got to me too - granted, Nandini gave birth to her; but Tanya raised her for 20 years and that relationship in itself should be placed on a higher pedestal. And in that case, Tanya KNEW she was raising someone else's child but still loved her more than anything. Here, Parvati only discovered recently that Shruti was not her child, but by then it was "too late" - the maternal bonding, the feelings were already there. I remember in the Suyash-Paro marriage track, Kamal said to Shruti that even when she is far away in her sasural, Parvati instinctively knows when she is hurting. I thought that was the sweetest thing ever, to have those feelings for your child, even now when you know that she is not your child. Even after the leap, Parvati maintains that Shruti is her only link to Om - despite the fact that she is not blood related to him either.
I also loved how in the kidnapping track, Parvati practically disowned Gayatri because she dared to hurt Shruti. If Parvati cared for Gayatri half as much as she did for Shruti, she would have tried, in these 18 years, to find Gayatri and chotu. In fact, she would at least have thought about G as much as she thought about Ashu and Shruti. For Parvati, her only children are Shruti, Krishna and Ashu (Gunn and Mayuri too, but the first three being prominent) - for them, she would do anything. And anyone DARE hurt Shruti - just watch Fiery Eyes retaliate!😳
