Shweta Kawaatra in short film By: Tushar Joshi December 27, 2005
KALIYON KA CHAMAN: Shweta and Kapil in Kaash
After taking a short break from commercial and mainstream drama, Shweta Kawaatra will now be seen in a short film, titled Kaash. Dealing with the subject of extramarital affairs, the project also stars director Anil Sharma's brother, Kapil.
"I play her lover in the film. Keeping in mind the sensitivity of the subject, we have taken great efforts to make an aesthetic film," he says.
Colourama
Produced and directed by Smita Kapoor, Kaash has been interestingly shot in only three colours. "Red, black and white are the three prominent colours used in the film. Right from the sets, to the costumes and promotions, you will see everything in most of these shades," explains Kapil.
Open end
Kaash starts off with Shweta leading a married life, but leaving her husband after differences arise. After a while, she becomes friendly with Kapil and decides to start living in with him. "The film doesn't reach a fixed conclusion. It has an open end — the viewer can derive whatever he or she wishes after seeing it."
This is Kapil Sharma's first short film; he previously acted in his brother's film, Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyon. "I am doing a solo project, titled Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, opposite three newcomer girls. It will be a romantic comedy and should be in theatres sometime in March," he says. Kaash will be on the national and international festival circuit soon.
