Pallavi Bhandari (Shweta Kawaatra) has always been an ambitious woman and when she was proposed to Ajay Agarwal (Prabhat Battacharya) (who was considered to be the smart one in the family), she was thrilled. However, Ajay fell in love with his bosses daughter Avantika (memorably portrayed by Sweta Keswani and Nivedita Battacharya).

Not wanting to lose their family's prestige, Parvati (Saakshi Tanwar) orchestrates a scheme in which Pallavi ends up marrying the family's youngest son Kamal (Ali Asgar) who was considered to be non-worthy. Pallavi's entrance into the Agarwal house brought about a new storm. Minutes after her 'graha-pravesh' Pallavi was responsible for breaking the miniature version of the house, which was being carried by Parvati.

Pallavi's first form of action was to get back at Parvati for stealing her rights to the husband she preferred and she did this by influencing Maji (Nayan Bhatt) and Chaaya (Rinku Dhawan Karmakar) against Parvati, which ended with Parvati and Om leaving the Agarwal House.

But they soon came back and Pallavi's schemes were exposed, causing her to leave the house and go back to her maayka. However, it was Parvati who convinced Kamal to bring Pallavi back home and he did, this time, Pallavi had realized her mistake and she then started to fall in love with Kamal.

Unfortunately for Pallavi, Kamal fell in love wit his secretary Nivedita and slept with her, causing her to become pregnant. Nivedita died giving birth and her friend Priyanka then informed Kamal about the child whom he then brought into the Agarwal House. The family supported Pallavi in her aggressions against Kamal for this betrayal but Pallavi herself soon fell in love with the child and accepted little Krishna as her own.

During the Khushi Rape storyline, Pallavi supported Parvati, Shilpa and Avantika who took a stance against their husbands to fight against Devin and Rohan Garg. However, during the latter part of this storyline, Pallavi switched sides again and began helping the Garg brothers. But the tables turned for the Garg brothers when Devin's (Rajeev Paul) wife Anamika (Sonika Sahay) gave them up in court. But by this time, Pallavi had already tricked Om (Kiran Karmakar) to sign all of the Agarwal's wealth in her name, thus rendering the family bankrupt. Pallavi then threw them out of the house and in parting, Parvati promised that they would get everything back, right after Pallavi tore down and trampled Vishwanath Agarwal's name board.

A classic Parvati/Pallavi scene is the next of their encounters... Parvati falls before Pallavi in the pouring rain claiming that she can't live a life of destitution and Pallavi takes Parvati in and changes her image completely. Parvati joins hands with Pallavi and Chaaya but what Pallavi didn't know was that Parvati and Chaaya were working together to destroy her.

Parvati then dorns the disguise of Ambika Sharma and starts helping Om get everything he lost back from Pallavi. The biggest betrayal in Pallavi's life is when she finds out that the Jethani she trusted more than life itself, was actually there to destroy her. So when Parvati gives everything back to the Agarwals and then tries to go back home, Pallavi plays another dirty game and blackmails Chaaya into calling Parvati a liar. Parvati is about to reveal herself as Ambika Sharma but Pallavi throws yet another plan into action and sends a fake Ambika (most memorably portrayed by Rajeshawari Sachdeva Bhadola and Tisca Arora Chopra) into the Agarwal House.

Pallavi and Ambika ruin all of Parvati's chances to get back into the Agarwal House and during this time Om and the Agarwals move into the Agarwal Mansion. Pallavi's plans are thrwarted again when Parvati finds out that Ambika Sharma is actually Mallika Vajay, fiance of Rohan Garg. Parvati exposes Mallika and has her thrown out of the Agarwal Mansion forever.

Pallavi's next attack on the family comes when she finds out about Ajay's affair with his boss Meeta Kapadia. She has photographs of the two of them sent to the Agarwal Mansion, thus banishing Ajay from the family. Parvati is almost successful in bringing Ajay back home but then he is murdered and Om is framed for it. Parvati begins an investigation to find out who really killed Ajay but it is Pallavi who discovers that Avantika was responsible for pulling the trigger. Pallavi then blackmails Avantika on her terms - Pallavi keeps Avantika's secret and Avantika kidnaps Krishna for her. The plan almost works but Parvati figures out truth and exposes Avantika.

But Pallavi insn't satisfied. She and Mallika then join forces and send Mallika's sister Aslesha into Neeraj's life. After much hue and cry Aslesha claims she is pregnant and is about to marry Neeraj when Parvati exposes her and reveals that she is lying about the pregnancy. Aslesha is imprisoned and Mallika begs Parvati to help her but Parvati refuses saying that Aslesha can rot in jail for all she cares because that's where both sisters belong. Mallika swears revenge on Parvati due to this and receives help from Sanjay Dhoshi, whom she then marries.

The first leap happens soon after this and we are introduced to the next generation all grown up. Into this equation we find our new vamp - Monalika Agarwal (Mansi Varma) who is the daughter of Ajay and Avantika - who has been brought up by Pallavi. In a twist of events, Pallavi sends Monalika to the Agarwal House to destroy them but their love and support changes Monalika. However a shocking twist brings about a complicated love triangle between Shruti (Tina Parekh), Aryan Dhoshi (Ali) and Monalika. It is soon revealed that Pallavi and Mallika are working together to get Shruti and Aryan married so that they can use this marriage to disrupt the peace in the Agarwal Family.

But Parvati soon exposes Pallavi's truth to Monalika and she leaves Pallavi to become a permanent resident of the Agarwal Mansion. Twists continue and Monalika finds out she's pregnant with Aryan's child after a one night stand. Pallavi is caught between helping Monalika and completing her mission against Parvati. And Parvati on the other hand is battling to give Monalika her right. Aryan manages to prove that he is not the father of Monalika's child and the family decides to go ahead with the wedding. During this time, Pallavi also tries her level best to bring Krishna back into her life but the methods she uses are not the right ones and Krishna ends up slowly distancing himself from her.

On the night of Shruti and Aryan's wedding Pallavi is surprised to find that Parvati and Monalika aren't at home because they have left the house after a huge argument to prove Monalika's point and Daadi (Lilly Patel) has left with them. This is a symbolic perid for KGGK because it marked the first change in Parvati's character from Parvati Agarwal to Swati Dixit.

The three women (Parvati, Monalika and Daadi) meet with a horrible accident and while Daadi comes out of it fine and Monalika (apparently) loses her baby... Parvati's face burns beyond recognition and plastic surgery has to be done. After plastic surgery the family is shocked to see Parvati's new face. Parvati (at the time played by Jaya Seal) goes to confront Pallavi who believes she is an imposter. But in Pallavi's house Parvati sees her new face and is shocked.

The track gets further twisted when an Indian born Australian lawyer Swati Dixit makes a sudden appearance. The bombshell is that she is the spitting image of Parvati.

Pallavi uses this as a tactic to taunt Parvati. Soon it is revealed that Parvati and Swati have exchanged lives so that Parvati can unveil Sanjay Dhoshi's evil plan to destroy Om and the Agarwals. The twist gets twisted when Parvati is on the verge of a breakthrough but on the night that she reveals herself as Parvati to everyone, Swati joins hands with Pallavi and claims to be the real Parvati. Only later do we find out that Pallavi is blackmailing Swati into doing so.

Soon this track ends and with it, Pallavi's reason for being as her many attempts fail and she loses all of her relationships in the process. This track also marked the end of Shweta Kawaatra's performance on KGGK as Pallavi.

Shweta Kawaatra's character Pallavi is one of the only two characters in KGGK's recorded history of 8 years to slap the character of Parvati. The other character is that of Ishaan "Chotu" Kaul (Bharat), who slaps Parvati in his mentally unstable state.
