So I know there is this ritual in punjabis where to be brides are made to wear choodas (the red Bangles) and those choodas are covered with handkerchief till they are dressed in their wedding attire. If you see Sonam Kapoor's sangeet pictures, even her hands are covered with handkerchief in the similar way. Maybe there is a similar ritual in sindhis as well.

Even among us (Hindus) brides and grooms are made to tie a thread with beads, shells, small metal etc it's called kankan and handkerchief is tied over it! It's opened on that ring finding ceremony!

Even in my family (Biharis) beads and thread is tied on both bride and groom and it is taken out after the ring funding ceremony only but handkerchief is not tied over it.
