Agreed. I think they have a complementary characterizations. Rohit is the brain person and Sonakshi the heart person (although they both have shades of both).
Initially I had felt they were portraying Sonakshi as too "mahan" (perfect ITV bahu) but while they definitely are doing that I also feel they are having it make sense given her circumstances.
She hasn't really had a normal childhood and upbringing. Being in the television industry from a young age and being exposed to such characters would certainly affect your thought process. Especially with a lack of standard education and the exposure to normal peer groups one receives through their school years. Then she probably had a very closeted existence given that her mother controls everything including being unable to spend her own money independently. Also she is constantly being referred to as her character rather than a distinct individual. So I can see why her mother mentioned her mixing the two personas (although she said that as a taunt but it is part of the characterization). So I really liked Rohit making a point of distinguishing the real Sonakshi for the first time.
Usually we see the female characters help the male characters in their growth process.. but I feel in this story Rohit will help Sonakshi in her character growth to find her identity beyond ITV.
