Since the interview made me happy and excited and wish for a Shappu scene, thought of writing a completely random, cute, fluffy one shot. I think someone said they wanted to see something like this in the show (can’t remember who..sry!)

Backstory: sometime in the future but before the year is up, after the issues are sorted, BS fixes his mistakes, still feels guilty and really trusts and loves Appu, but Appu still hasn’t realized her love yet.

Bayko ya Teddy?

The whole family is sitting in their usual spots in the open space, going through their daily morning routine with teasings, laughs and of course the usual fights of the elders. After a long time of issues one after another starting from Babi’s wedding, everyone was finally taking a breather and just enjoying their day. The only two missing were the real Tom & Jerry of the house, but speak of the devil and they enter the scene.

Shashank was ready to go work like everyday and walked down the stairs with his bag strapped across his shoulders, but the difference from daily routine is that Appu was right behind him and yelling at him.

Appu: Khadus, you are not going anywhere!

Shashank: Apurva, meine kaha na, bahut important kaam hai. Zyaada dher nahin lagega, bas 2-3 hours and then I will immediately come back.

Appu holds him by the arms and stops him by the stairs: Tum akele kaam karti hu kya? Agar itna zaroori hai toh kisi aur ko bolo but tum kahin nahin jarahi ho!

Sua Aai: Are Appu. Kaam hai uska, jaane do na. Kyu rokh rahi ho?

Appu: Sua Aai, agar aapko pata hota na, toh aap bhi Khadus ko rokhte. You know what, jab mein raat ko pani keliye uthi na, toh mujhe pata chala. Matlab normally neend mein I wouldn’t have noticed, but pani peene ke baad, jab mein phirse sone keliye meri teddy, matlab Khadus ka haath liya na tab pata chala mujhe.

Everyone starts giggling and Mai looks down shyly, while Shashank tries to stop Appu through his embarrassment.

Shashank: Ye Apurva, kya bol rahi ho?

Appu: Meine kya bola? Sach hi toh hai. Meine tumhara haath pakda toh pata chala na ki tume bhukaar hai!

Everyone: KYA?

Appu: Ha, Khadus ko bhukaar hai from midnight. Par no worries, meine Baba ko call kiya aur jo jo Baba ne bola voh sab kiya. Par abhi bhi temperature kum nahin hua par ye Khadus institute jaane ki zidd kar raha hai.

Shashank: Are mai theek hu. Ha fever hai, but experiment ka kuch important kaam hai toh mujhe toh institute jaana padega, bas 1-2 gante aur phir vapas aajaungi.

Vittu Baba: Tu ye kaam kisi aur ko nahin bol sakta kya?

Shashank: Esa nahin hai Baba, bol sakta hu, par mujhe ye kaam khud karna hai varna mujhe satisfaction nahin hoga na.

Mai crying: Parmeshwara, Shashank ko bhukaar hai matlab kuch hogaya toh?? Sua, tujhe yaad hai na jab isse bachpan mein aisa bhukaar aya toh kitna khatarnak tha. Uski jaan kho bhi katra tha. Ab agar esa hua toh?

Appu: KYA? Ab toh mai tume bilkul nahin jaane dungi!!

Shashank: Are par mera institute—

Appu: Koi institute nahin, koi experiment nahin. Tumhara assistants hai na, Srikanth aur Tanmayi, unn dono ko phone karo aur jo kaam hai unhe bol do, par tum kahin jarahi ho! Aur ab agar tumne kuch kaha na, toh-

Shashank: toh kya?

Appu: Toh mai tumhara muh pe tape laga dungi aur tumhara haath aur pair dono bed ko baandh dungi so that you can’t leave!

Smiling, Shashank: Acha? Aur ye sab tumhe lagta hai tum akele kar paugi? Let me remind you, mujhe fever hai par phir bhi mai tumse zyaada strong hu.

Appu: Par mai akele thodi hu. Kukki gang meri help karegi issme. Right Kukki gang?

Gang: DONE!

Shashank: Ye tum mere saath ese zabardasti nahin karsakthi ho!

Appu: Ab tum dekho mai kya kya karti hu! Chalo tum mere saath!

Appu forcibly drags him upstairs back to their room, with Shashank protesting and trying to stop her the entire way. The family could do nothing but watch in fascination as their favorite couple left the scene.

Kukki: Ye dono na duniya ki sabse badi idiots hai. Dono ek doosre se itna pyaar karte hai aur ye sab ko diktha hai par ye dono ek doorse se kahenge nahin!

In Shappu room

Appu brings Shashank into the room and removes his bag and pushes him onto the bed.

Shashank: Apurva mein sachme thik hu. Mujhe institute-

Appu: Dekho Khadus, tumhara fever gayab hone tak agar tumne institute ka naam bhi liya na toh mein tumhara muh pe sachme tape laga dungi. Until you are well, tum na kaam karogi aur na kaam ki koi baat karogi, got it?

Looking at his Shist asserting her rights as his wife, Shashank was enjoying the attention and care and he really was tired so he decided to give in to demands. Thankfully, she at least allowed him to make one phone call to let his team know and told him to change into comfortable clothes while she brought him soup.

Back to Family room

Appu comes down again and asks Sua Aai to help her make some soup for Shashank. Everyone was left speechless seeing this side of Appu for Shashank, but were feeling delighted at the same time at this progress.

As Appu took Sua Aai with her to the kitchen, the family couldn’t help but follow to observe this side of their favorite girl.

Mai: Ek kaam karti hu, mein pooja karti hu aur prasad chada dungi taki Shashank jaldi thik ho. Mujhe uski bahut fikar horahi hai.

Appu: Are Mai, don’t worry. Jab mujhe pata chala na ki Khadus ko fever hai, meine Baba ko call kiya aur jo unn hone bola sab kiya. Matlab pehle maine Khadus tablet diya, phir garam pani pilayi, aur phir raat bhar uski forehead pe voh kercheif bhi lagaya so that fever kum ho.

Gang: Raat bhar?!?

Even as everyone looks at each other in amazement, Appu doesn’t notice and continues to make soup as she’s told and continues her tale.

Appu: Ho raat bhar! Matlab voh temperature kum karna tha na, isliye. Par koi farak nahin pada. I mean temperature thoda kum hua but Khadus ki neend puri nahin hui na. Tabhi toh voh itni zyada tired ha abhi, lekin phir bhi institute jana hai. Khadus kutla.

Everyone was smiling and giggling, listening to Appu’s cute rant, and Sua Aai was the happiest that finally their relationship was moving forward so well. But Kukki gang haazir ho aur masti na ho, not possible. Appu was still focused on her soup so she didn’t notice the signals the gang were giving each other or the mischievous smiles on their faces.

Kukki: Kaise neend ayega? Jab Shashank bimar hota hai na, toh voh chote bache ki tarah behave karta hai.

Amey: Ha sachi! Sua Kaku, aapko yaad hai, jab bachpan mein Shashank bimar hota tha, toh usse thodi dher sulane ka ek hi tarika hota tha, uski apni teddy.

Mansi: Kya bol raha hai? Shashank bhauji ka teddy?

Sumi: Ha Vahini, mujhe bhi yaad hain. Hai na Aai?

Sua Aai: Ha? She looks around confused but upon seeing the silent signals from the gang, goes along with them. Ha, Shashank ko chayye tha.

Appu: Acha? Toh kaha hai voh abhi?

Amey: Are Appu, Tu jaakar Shashank se hi puch na!

Nikhil: Ha, soup bhi ready hai toh soup pilado aur phir pucho usse.

Confused, Appu agrees and takes the soup to Shashank. Here Sua Aai pulls Sumi’s ear.

Sua Aai: Ye kya tha? Ab kya naya tarika dunda Kukki gang ne Shashank aur Appu ko pareshan karne ka?

Kukki: Are Vahini, pareshan karne ka nahin, prem karne ka bahana banaya.

Mansi: Appu ko Bhauji ki kitni chinta hai, ye toh deki liya.

Amey: Aur ab Shashank bhi dekhege ki Appu kitni sweet hai.

Nikhil: Aur phir issi bahane se ye dono thoda close tho hongi!

Sumi: Aur inki love story thoda aage badegi!

The gang dances around while the elders watch amused at their antics.

In Shappu room

Appu brings soup to Shashank who’s laying in bed, but doesn’t let him drink it himself.

Appu: Dekho, jab main bimar thi, tumne mujhe soup pilaya, so now it’s my turn.

Shashank gives up and decides to follow the instructions of his wife and silently drinks the soup and the medicines after. He then sees Appu searching for something all through the room and asks her what she’s looking for.

Appu: Khadus, tujhe thik se neendh nahin aayi na kal rat toh issliye tumhara teddy dundh rahi ho. Kaha hai aur tumne mujhe pehle kyu nahin bataya?

Shashank: KYA? Meri teddy?

Appu: Ho, Kukki bol raha tha-

Shashank: Apurva, tume kitni baar kaha hai tumhari Kukki gang ki saari baatein mat suno. Esa kuch nahin hai.

Appu: Par Aai ne bhi kaha tha na!

Shashank was stunned to hear his mother was also involved in this new Kukki gang prank and was thinking about what to do when he saw the shadows at the bottom of the closed door.

Shashank: Oh Kukki gang, mujhe fever hai so ab toh chodo please. Chale jao varna mai Dada ko bulalungi. on seeing the shadows not leaving, he yells out Dada and watches the gang leave them alone.

He then looks towards his wife who was still standing around confused and concerned for him, but he could also see that she was tired as well from the lack of sleep last night.

Shashank: Apurva, mujhe yaad nahin hai toh ye sab chodo. I’m tired aur tum bhi so chalo let’s sleep.

Appu reluctantly lays down on the bed but sleeps away from Shashank, facing him.

Shashank: Ye kya? Tumhe teddy nahin chayye?

Appu: Nahin, voh tumhari tabyat thik nahin hai na. Toh it’s ok, mein thik hu.

But it’s not for him as he’s grown even more used to her now, sometimes wondering if it was now just her that needs to sleep this way.

Shashank: Acha Apurva, tumhe teddy nahin chayye par mujhe chayye right? Mujhe abhi yaad aya Aai kya bol rahi thi par you know what, ye Kukki gang mujhe bahut tease karti hai, issliye meine voh sab chod diya. Lekin abhi mein bahut tired hu so aaj keliye tum meri teddy bansakthi ho?

Appu: Are par tumhara haath mein pain hoga na.

Shashank: Iska solution hai mere paas, but promise me tum Kukki gang ko kuch nahin bataogi.

He pulls Appu closer to him and lays her head on his chest so that they can both the get the peace they craved for. He still has a long way to go to make up for his mistakes and win back her trust so that he can properly express his feelings but until then, Shashank wasn’t willing to let go of any chance he gets to stay close to her.

❤️Ishiqi…..wow and thank you….How cute and romantic tha last part….i am so glad you wrote this…since last week I haven’t been enjoying the track but this made me realize once these get back to normal,,we will enjoy it more…

P.s.while i was reading this story i had forgotten ke we were angry at BS…phir se pyaaar aa gaya khadaus pe….now back to reality

That’s exactly what I felt when I was watching the interview. We know it’s going to get better soon and then the Shappu scenes will be even more fun to watch and the precap with the sweet Appu and the normal acting Khadus made me want to write.

PS: I had to remind myself not to write the lover boy like before! 😆 But I also kept typing BS automatically!!

This definitely lifted my mood. The way she took care of him, exhibiting her concern and right as a wife and he just listens! Everything just went well! Kukki gang back to their masti and fun ❤️

Reminded of why TR so special—-So, I am going to stay positive 😊

If they can move forward like this from the current track where he realizes he needs to make up and do a lot before expressing his love—it will be a good redemption track!

Ab BS needs to leave, we want our this Khadus back with his Bayko!

I really hope at some point in the show we see Appu taking care of a sick or injured Khadus!! Her concern and his reaction would be amazing to watch!!

Yes, I want Khadus back tooo!!! But I guess we will have to wait for a couple more episodes still! 😭

He needs to come back by Monday!!!!

This scene would be epic—-I loved how he took care of her so the reverse will be awesome, esp how you wrote it!

Suvarna tells Shashank that he is mistaken about Apurva in a roundabout way. Meanwhile, Apurva begins her plan to reclaim Shashank from Netra.

I wish it was more like SA bashes Shashank 😂 but let’s see!
