Colossal Failure of a remake

I was part of the audience that watched Khorkuto avidly and was happy to see a Hindi remake. The show was doing so well until the whole RKC and Maya planning plot. From there on, everything went downhill. I connected with Khorkuto and the beginning of KKIS because it gave me a return to a show like Sasural GP Season 1. I think Khorkuto was inspired by Sasural. I mean the progressive thought of the shows and the flip of the serial genre was a breath of fresh air. It was nice to see a story where instead of a middle-class FL adjusting in a rich household; we have a rich FL adjusting in a middle-class household. The essence of the show was Gungun finally getting the love, family, and affection she craved from childhood. She lived her life in a large and silent mansion. She would've gotten a smaller and loud house filled with love and laughter. KKIS production house really screwed this up. Imlie and Anupama took the good of their origin stories; while KKIS and GHKKPM went the other route. Just because GHKKPM managed to succeed with the negative and ridiculous tracks does not mean KKIs will succeed, hence proven by the low TRP's.

I found out about Thipkyanchi Rangoli and am now religiously watching it. This is basically what KKIS should have been. Like always, regional dramas are on point with their shows.

I’m Bengali so I understood khorkuto. I use context clues for Marathi. Lol. It’s better than watching the trash KKIS is serving.

I use context clues. I understand some of the words. The leads of the show have such good chemistry and act so well, that language isn’t a real barrier.

@bold1: So true!! Anupama has been progressing positively! Although Imli initially took a poor direction, but the makers realised it soon and thus compensated the viewers with a fresh story!! But for Vanku's shows... They just turn a deaf ear to all the criticisms! KKIS would definitely see it's downfall soon, if things keep going on, in the same way!

@bold2: These regional shows not only focus on TRPs but also on viewer satisfaction! As for our hindi shows... All they know is DRAMA!! The same concepts in all the shows. No creativity, nothing! They can't even remake a show as it is... A large quantity of their unnecessary drama is always ready to be added... destroying the shows!!!

wasn't SGP a remake of ogo bodhu shundori on star jalsha? OBS was one of the first shows of SJ and it was one of my favourites. I think this was one of the few times where star plus did a good job with a remake because both SGP and OBS were a delight to watch
