Just penning down my thoughts about this show:

The actress playing GunGun is very adorable. Her smile is also very cute and she really fits the role. But now the character itself is so annoying AT TIMES and sometimes cringe. I feel she over acts her scenes with Annu. When I see her scenes with Annu it reminds me of elementary and middle school days where you try to be mean to your crush for them to notice you. Yup when I see Annu and GunGun scene this is what I am reminded of and it feels a little cringy.

The family needs to work on making the viewers believe in the “hum Saath saath hai” dynamic they are trying to portray. When they establish that there won’t be any more issues. I am slowly staring to like GunGun and family banters but my brain is unable to process how they laugh it off when GunGun is calling names and bad mouthing Annu. Like Annu is not adopted right??? I will say that every girl would be happy to have in- laws like them, but people like them don’t exist…lol…

As for Annu, I feel like he is the only sane person in the whole show. His character is logical and relatable, otherwise all other characters are from another planet. He is practical, mature, and sorted. He needs someone who is lively to make his life a bit more fun… but Gungun’s personality is that of a toddler and from what we have seen so far, it feels like that instead of being a husband, he will be a permanent babysitter for GunGun and this marriage is basically sending gungun to daycare.

Besides all that and some more, I am glad it is a light-hearted, funny show for entertainment. It is defo a knock off version of SGP and I am not mad about it.

Desclaimer: I am no way trying to bash the show as I have been waiting for Starplus to re-make this show since I saw the original and enjoyed its initial episodes. But just a bit disappointed that Vanku is part of it… I wish some other director had taken the show, but all is good as long as it’s entertaining and wholesome. Please don’t disappoint me Vanku…

Exactly my thoughts 😆

I like the show so far, it's mindless drama and light-hearted

The family is surreal, the girl insults their son and they laugh it off??

I don't mind a bratty heroine, but Gungun's comeback is kind of cringe and lame. Maybe to show Anubhav is more wise?

However, she giving nicknames to people whose names she can't remember is so relatable 👍🏼

I also don't feel the family scenes to be smoothless unlike SGP

Yes, Gungun does gel well with the family, it makes their scenes more smooth imo

😆 I feel Gungun's father wants to get her married to experience what a family means? Uhmm, they like her already, no need to get married. But I guess he really likes Anubhav.

I hope Anubhav-Gungun relationship isn't like a babysitter type you've described.

Anubhav is so sorted, I like him as a male lead and I hope he doesn't get butchered in less than 200 episodes 😆 seems a trend nowadays for male leads.

I have a feeling with the whole set up of the father trying to set up Gungun trying to gel into Annu's family is indicative towards the pace of the show, in other words, fast-paced rather than dragging it out. Yes, certain scenes do necessitate improvement but there definitely decent level of apnapan in the scenes.

Won't deny that the FL does need to perk up more on her acting skills. Sometimes, I do feel it's a bit coerced at times in terms of getting the logic of chemistry out.

For instance, the restaurant scene was bit coerced as I get that the FL wanted to celebrate her birthday and attempt at being boisterous but was, honestly speaking, creating a commotion, even though the writer wanted to exude the chemistry out of them. Somewhat felt like what you mentioned.

But, all in all, show's not that bad though it could be better too.

Personally, I've seen girls like Gungun (more toned down, obviously😆) still have somewhat of childlike personality stuck in a 20-something year old body due to tragedy of some kind (death/divorce/separation) but post marriage, they can mature if the families can work it out with passing time.

I remember the scene of Gungun serving her dad and aunt food before she ate it herself which shows that she does respect her elders as they've been close to her all her life despite not a "proper" upbringing. If she's bonding with them now, then kal ko jab woh uss ghar mei shaadi karke aagai, then she'll gel with passing time. She does overact at times, but let's see.

I feel it has to somewhat do with the pacing of the show.

Show is likeable, maybe characters will tone down and become better in a month or so.
