I think Gungun was impressed as well.

Yes kanyadaan was great and I like the concept of all doing it together which does make sense

But I do not necessarily agree with anu how he defined/explained the meaning of kanyaadaan. I do not think society sees it that way

For me Kanyadan is just a ritual. My Kanyadan was done by my Maternal Uncle, because in our place whoever does the Kanyadan, he cannot eat or drink for one year at Bride's in-laws home. And my Father is a big food and obviously he will come to visit me more than often. So, he did not do the Kanyadan. Infact, it has become like a trend for the relatives to do the Kanyadan.

And also I don't understand why people has any problem with Kanyadan. My Kanyadan was also done. I didn't feel any difference before or after that. My Parents' love for me is still the same. I am still there pampered child.

I hear you. Kanyadaan to me also is just a ritual, nothing more. Heck, mine was done by some relatives. It didn't really mean anything to me.

I'm my parent's daughter and that's never going to change. I'm not Indian, so not sure what is the thought process there.
