Because that's how he has been brought up. Whatever the oldest male in the house says, goes. no questions asked.

Again because their father is an orthodox person. To him, girls should not be around males. it will reflect badly on them and their character. something like the "boys and girls cannot be friends." stigma.

Exactly that is the reason today girls have to change their gender to run his shops !!

i agree, its a shame that except for puttu (i cant take kusum's name here as im ambivalent about her perspective at times), the family never really allowed the girls to evolve w/ confidence...kusum is expressing her irritance but im mixed about her character esp when she talked that she cant do much in front of dp, it just jarred my teeth to core...at least they have someone to talk to & they only share pretty much majority of their feelings to either each other or puttu...like for example, sushila is able to share her frustration in front of garima and similar for garima...but not so much for family members...

agreed. I remember the last scene of episode 23 where Susheela ranted to Garima. its moments like this that show they understand each other but can't do much about it. and the fact that she had to leave the shop as to not let others see her vulnerability but a look from her sister was enough for her to open up.

although I really wish they had someone else that they could open up to. sometimes i get the feeling they dont want to share things with each other because they fear becoming a burden to the other person. so there is a tendency to bottle things up which is not healthy.

honestly, I dont think they are bothered to change his mentality. they want to run freedom from his control as well appreciation. weather its because he changes his mindset or not, they don't really care.

i think they gave up bc he's damn right stubborn in his thought process...for now, i also dont see a change in his mentality...we need more vikram taunting dp scenes perhaps..

I thought I was the only one. but yea Chachi is better in a sense that she is trying to give her son a better future. I would even go as far as to say that she will actually support puttu in front of dp is such a situation arises that another adult needs to step in. i would definitely prefer chachi as a mother that wouldn't mind fighting for her child agasint her own husband.

probably they did it back than & i will agree on bc ive seen places, not only india but other places wherein the oldest male or the all the males in a family still have control over their family in a lot of houses...its not only prevalent in india but in other places too..

for now, i doubt dp's mentality will change or not bc idk the pacing seems to be a bit slow...the writers arent showing garima practicing on her hair styling skills like in frustration like they did w/ sushila...also, as one of the members mentioned already, it seems questionable if dp's mentality change track is starting to lose focus unless the girls tackle three ways through one way k matlab ek teer s kahin nishaan wala track u know

also, she also cares for the worth of shishupal which even shishupal shrugs it off...i mean, everyone is a matlabi tatu in some way or the other but it depends on how we look at it...so as a wife & mother, chanchal wins big time even if her methods are wrong...dp, tbh, has no right to control puttu's future w/o his parents consent...shishupal once mentioned dp ensuring puttu getting ips education & holidays, lol i dont see that happening at all...
