Arjun Bijlani back on TV
Actor will soon be seen on a show inspired by the Nitish Katara murder case; to play the lead
Good news for fans of Arjun Bijlani. The actor, who is best known as Mayank from the hit show Miley Jab Hum Tum, will soon be seen on the small screen again. He is set to play a prominent role on the Star Plus show Kaali – Ek Punar Avatar, which is supposedly inspired by the Nitish Katara murder case.
Anshul Trivedi and Mangal KenkreA source says, "Kaali is the story of a mother's fight for justice and doesn't have the conventional male and female lead. In the show, Vani (Mangal Kenkre) loses her son Nimai (Anshul Trivedi) in what is assumed to be a suicide, but it will be later revealed that it was a murder. Nimai was targeted by politician Rajkumar Tyagi (Sudhir Nimai) who opposed his daughter's marriage to him. Arjun will step in as an important character. He will play Nimai's friend who helps Vani and later falls in love with Tyagi's daughter (Sayali). His character will enter the show in midJanuary."
Arjun confirms the news and explains, "The role is interesting. My character, Om, is Nimai and Sayali's friend from college, and will bring lots of positivity on the show. He will help Vani fight her battles. She is the 'hero' of the show, so I won't be the lead in the technical sense, but there will be a romantic track between Om and Sayali later on, which will a prominent element of the show." This will be his first project after more than a year. "I was busy with my Punjabi film, Full Phukre, which took six months. Then there were personal issues that I had to sort out. This role will be the perfect start for 2013."
Other than Arjun, Viraf Phiroze Patel too is rumoured to enter the show, but the makers aren't confirming the news.
