He's one actor whose presence in the comedy show Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai put a smile on everyone's face. But then, Sumeet Raghvan disappeared from the small screen only to emerge once again in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Marathi. And now, Sumeet's coming back to enthrall the audience with his singing skills on NDTV Imagine's Say Shaava Shaava. Since he was trained in Indian classical music for some time, doesn't he think he might have an edge over the other actors participating in the show? "That was just a phase during the time I took part in Sa Re... Otherwise, we're actors first and not singers," says Sumeet adding that co-stars in the show like Aman Verma, Narayani Shastri and Apurva Agnihotri are quite good at singing as well. "So I'm not over-confident about winning the show," he adds with a smile. The actor is also glad that since the show will go off-air in just 11 days, the format will not allow them to ask for audience votes which he finds, in his own words, "quite idiotic". "Thankfully, I won't have to beg for votes," says Sumeet. All that's fine, but when will the small screen audience get to see him at what he's best at — acting? "Tell me frankly, do you see any serial today which really stands out?" he questions, "I have waited so much for a good role to come my way, I might as well wait a little more." Meanwhile, Sumeet's happy acting on the big screen. He's got Ajay Devgan's directorial debut U, Me Aur Hum and also, Nandita Das' directorial debut in his kitty. "It was great working with actors like Ajay and Kajol, they have such terrific chemistry. And in Nandita's film, I share screen space with Naseeruddin Shah and Raghuvir Yadav. After working with such actors, you feel that you're nowhere as an actor," he avers. Well Sumeet, don't be so modest! What sorta show is this?😕ek toh its a 11 day show and we cant even campaign for our favourite stars. Though I have full faith on Apurva but still I wud have been satisfied if the viewers showed their appreciations for him through votes..it really encourages a participant.😊 They are trying their best to stand out from the other reality shows but isnt it really odd?😕 btw the show dint evn start and ppl are already scared of Apurva's singing talent..Looks like he is a strong candidate.😛 Good going Apu !
