The bus leaves without Dev and Kaajjal as Dev manages to convince the conductor not to let Kaajjal travel without him. They then try to hitch a lift from passing cars but while Dev is unsuccessful, Kaajjal shows off by managing to flag down a jeep.
Dev sees three spoilt rich young ruffians in the jeep and cautions Kaajjal against taking such a lift, but she insists and he has no choice but to go with her to protect her. In the jeep, the men try to act coy with Kaajjal but she innocently replies and does not see their evil intentions. Dev sees the ones in the back of the jeep start to drink and gets even more alarmed when they stop by a roadside dhaba.
Kaajjal tells Dev not to keep warning her again and that he is just jealous again as he was of Shantanu. Dev has no choice again but to let her go to eat lunch with these guys, but he stays away a little to better keep watch on them. He sees one of them give the dhaba wala some dope to put in Kaajjal's lassi, and in another one's back pocket he sees a gun. He now knows they are in danger and he has to be very very careful!
While the lassi's arrive Dev cleverly pours his glass' contents to the ground while encouraging all others to drink theirs fully. Kaajjal's head is swimming with the lassi's effects … but Dev alone is sane but pretending to be drunk.
The bad guys think they are both drunk and they proceed to start the jeep to continue on their evil way, but Dev seems to have cleverly cut some wires and made the jeep unable to start.
The bad guys are forced to ask Dev to steer the jeep briefly - with Kaajjal in the passenger seat - as they three push the jeep to start it. Suddenly Dev manages to connect two wires to jumpstart the jeep, and despite their efforts to stop him he drives away with Kaajjal leaving the thugs stranded. In the scuffle his hand has been hurt.
After driving for a bit Dev is forced to stop as the petrol in the jeep gets empty. They are in the middle of the road among some fields. Dev tells Kaajjal what happened at the dhaba as she wakes from her stupor, and as she then climbs off the jeep and sits by the roadside still a bit groggy, she sees Dev frantically trying to hitch lifts from passing vehicles but in vain.
She is filled with remorse that she has so badly misjudged him and labelled him jealous when he was trying to protect her. She remembers all the times she was rude to him during the previous occasions they had met.
Suddenly Dev manages to stop a passing truck and he tells Kaajjal to get on it fast - as this truck alone can take both of them to their manzil – Mumbai. Kaajjal stops him in his tracks as she suddenly says sorry to him, and he is taken aback and gratified!
When Kaajjal has difficulty climbing on the truck he gives her a leg up using his hurt hand which then starts bleeding profusely. But when Kaajjal puts her hand out to help him up, the truck driver however, thinking they both are on, starts driving off leaving Kaajjal in the truck and screaming for Dev … who is still far behind left on the road, but running hard for his life to try and get on the truck.
They freeze showing Dev unsuccessful in following the truck and falling to the ground in pain … as Kaajjal is still screaming for him and for the truck to stop.
