The rich man Shantanu rejects Dev from singing in the audition even though his assistant Sardarji says not to be so rude to Dev … and then Shantanu asks abruptly to his assistant Sardarji to somehow by night time get a shaadi location for the album shooting. Dev and Chavani overhear this conversation, but go away.
At the shaadi ceremony preparations that evening the Sardarji assistant comes there enquiring who is the boss of the house. He sees Dev there and ventures to ask him if the boss of the house will give permission to shoot at that shaadi. Dev is considering doubtfully whether to ask Sweety's Dad to allow this, but the smart Chavani suggests to Dev that it would be good to get Sweety's Dad to allow this … so that Dev can show off his singing and catch the attention of Shantanu!
Dev gets Sweety's Dad to agree … but Kaajjal comes there and asks her uncle not to give permission as it's a private family shaadi not fit for outsiders shooting! Kaajjal then tells Dev it's a badla for his rudeness at the dargah!
Dev is very upset and laments to Chavani how everyone at his home and in this whole world is conspiring somehow to keep him in the kitchen with no opportunities in life! Kajjal overhears this sadness in his voice and words … and is uspet she has ruined his chances.
When Dev is later setting out dishes for the ceremony, Sweety's father suddenly comes to him and says he has changed his mind and allowed the shooting. Dev is thrilled. But when Kaajjal comes there by chance again they both start snapping at each other and Dev even turns her away as a hot-headed girl!
When Kaajjal leaves in a huff, Hottie Bua comes there and tells Dev how wrong is his behaviour with Kaajjal … as she only had realised her mistake and got Sweety's Dada to change his mind, so that he, Dev, could get to get his audition chance! Dev is full of remorse that he mistook Kaajjal's for a spoilt rich girl, whereas she was actually such a nice-hearted person.
Later when he is cooking Dev thinks: "I have to apologize to Kaajjal" but then he does not also feel like belittling his own ego and saying sorry to her! While he is thus conflicted, Chavanni forces him to be a real man and say sorry to her! After Chavani's forcing, finally Dev searches out Kaajjal to apologize … but Kaajjal suddenly comes before him looking stunningly dressed, and he forgets what he came to say.
Again and again he tries to say the words but fails … when she tries to go away, he calls her back saying he wants to say something … but loses his nerve. She gets miffed at his repeated attempts to catch her attention and then not say anything.
Once he tries and then ends up tallking about the plate of dry fruits he is carrying. Another time he tries to say sorry, calls her back and ends up saying Thank You instead of Sorry! Chavani is disgusted with his miserable attempts at this apology which he has still not delivered!
Meanwhile they show the scene a little later when all are ready for Sangeet. Dev is still at work so he is still in his grubby T-shirt and pants among the well dressed and ready guests, when the shooting crew arrives. He is flustered because he is not even ready …
… suddenly then he spots this Shantanu introducing himself in syrupy sweetness to Kaajjal after bumping into her. They are exchanging introductions and she recognises he must be the "audition man" Dev and Chavani were discussing.
Meanwhile Dev and Chavani see these two smiling and talking. Dev appears to be racked with jealousy but tries not to show it. After Shantanu goes from there Dev once again goes to Kaajjal and says he wants to say something … and instead of saying sorry he again this time says: "You should not talk to that man Shantanu. He is not OK. Beware of him for your own good!" He sounds real possessive … and Kaajjal just laughs away, saying he is jealous of her talking with Shantanu! Dev has a stunned expression as Kaajjal describes him as jealous and goes away.
Later that evening everyone is ready for the Sangeet ceremony … and Dev too is very grandly dressed up now, and he and Kaajjal both takes the boys' side and girls' side respectively in the sangeet and start singing in competition.
Suddenly in the middle of the singing he again goes close to her and says he wants to say something. She asks what? He murmurs a sorry in low tones … but she is unable to hear amidst the noise and asks what he is saying.
He tries twice more reluctantly … but she still can't hear. Suddenly desperate to get out the words finally, he shouts "SORRY" so loudly that the whole gathering of people come to a shocked standstill! Freeze.
