Shama ready for Dhoom Dhadaka!

The actress wants to start her Bollywood journey afresh with a film opposite Sameer Dattani

Back to the begning:Shama Sikandar

Putting her seedy Bollywood trysts (Basti, Pardesi Re, Patth and Ansh) firmly behind her, Shama Sikandar is starting afresh with Dhoom Dhadaka. The actress is soon leaving for Bangkok to complete a monthlong schedule for the film.

While Shama's small screen stint ended with Ye Meri Life Hai, she's been lying low for the last few months. "It was a conscious decision. I wanted to stay away from the limelight for a while," says the actress.

Offers from various shows did not excite her either. "I was bored with the offers. It was the same stuff."

Grown up

Accepting the fact that she did some forgettable roles in films like Basti, Shama says she wants to start over. "Yes, I did some films in the past that I am not too proud of, but that was a different time. I have come a long way from those movies.

Working in television has taught me many things. I have matured as an actress. I think Dhoom Dhadaka is a film that will exploit my potential to the max."

Comic inclinations

Apart from television, Shama recently dabbled in theatre with Tanaaz and Bakthiyaar's Irani's play Dhoom Macha De. "I have left the play, but I had great fun doing it."

Revealing that she has a flair for comedy, Shama says, "I'm a very jovial person. I love watching comedy films and admire Sridevi's comic timing. The fact that Dhoom Dhadaka is a comedy makes it all the more interesting."

When asked who's the one actor she would love to work with, she says, "Mr Bachchan! Anyone would love to be in a film with him."
