Based on these lines, Sony Entertainment Television airs tonight – Kaajjal Sabbki Aankhon Mein Basi set in mint fresh locales of Mussourie. While Apurva Agnihotri plays the role of an outwardly brash Veer Pratap Singh, the female lead is played by Surveen Chawla. Talking about her character in the serial, she divulges, "Kaajjal is a lovable radio jockey who dreams about her knight in shining armour. But life takes a U-turn when he turns out to be different from what she had imagined."
So is the concept of 'Mr Right' a myth? Actor Gurdip Kohli, who's tying the knot with fianc Arjun Punjj this December, doesn't think so. "As a kid, I dreamt of a prince on a white horse and Arjun actually managed to sweep me off my feet! Whether it's a surprise dinner on a yacht or exotic holidays, he makes me feel like a princess," she says.
Some like Mona (Jassi) Singh believe that someday they'll meet their 'dream man'. "Like Madhuri Dixit's character in Dil To Pagal Hai, I'm a die-hard romantic. My 'Prince Charming' should be tall, not-so-dark, definitely handsome," she smiles. Actor Nausheen Sardar, however wonders "if there's someone special who'll treat me like a princess? At times I fear – what if Mr Right is not so right after all?"
No matter what the belief, it's undeniable that watching a relationship culminating in 'eternal harmony' leaves one hopeful. "After a hard day's work we want to watch something that assures us that all's well," Shilpa explains the rationale behind the popularity of this genre.
So, will the latest tele-love-hate relationship between Kaajjal and Veer prove to be heart-tugging? To find out, catch Kaajjal Sabbki Aankhon Mein Basi, every Monday-Thursday, at 8 pm on Sony Entertainment Television.
