Her role in Hum Paanch

I am very excited about Hum Paanch. I will be playing the role of the dead wife (earlier played by the late Priya Tendulkar). I think Priya was amazing in it and I hope I do justice to her role. I haven't started shooting yet, but I can't wait to get into the skin of the character.

I think she did a wonderful job of playing a character stuck in a frame, yet expressing so much. Her body language and facial expressions were awesome.

Six shows on Doordarshan

I am doing so many shows because I enjoy playing different characters. There's so much scope to do different roles and I have some great shows lined up on DD, though people think no one watches the channel. I am also doing K Street Pali Hill (Star Plus) and Prratima (SaharaOne), which will soon end.

Wants to do comedy

I really want an image change. I am bored of doing the same negative roles over and over again. Comedies have always interested me. Hum Paanch is a big step in that direction and I look forward to taking on more funny roles.
Playing a courtesan in Sahib Bibi Gulam

I did this on the request of a dear friend. I play the courtesan Nanhebai in the film. It was good fun doing it, since this was the first time I did a dance number for a play.

Who would not want to be associated with Sahib Bibi Aur Gulam? I think every woman has always dreamt of doing Meena Kumari's role in it.
