Kabir's transformation

I have been watching the old episodes of Jyoti (esp the ones after Kabir's entry) and am struck by the transformation of Kabir's character. I really miss the lovable, Bindaas guy portrayed in the earlier episodes. Even the Kabir who is madly in love with Jyoti was cute to watch. The romantic scenes after their wedding were also unique. I hate the current track which has made Kabir into a brooding, morose character who doesn't even smile at Jyoti...........let alone give her a hug. Kudos however, to Aamir Dalvi for displaying a whole range of emotions and getting into the skin of the character. He is doing a marvellous job.

But, please can we have the old Kabir back...........I don't like the sad one.

I agree w/ this completely, but the person responsible for it is that loser Jyoti. The ole bindas Kabir, who'd pop like a Jack-in-the-box on Jyoti in the theater, or tease her about being so uptight w/ her students, or barge into her home uninvited and hit on dadi was soooooo much better than the saint version. This moronic transformation of Kabir started w/ the reform of Brij, and went on to other things, and I really stopped enjoying him after he entered politics to ensure that his father gets elected CM of Rajasthan. Also, I miss Amit, the pal who was such a cool guy to witness. Both Kabir & Jyoti would have been better off in his Udaipur home, and w/ him as the media executive, rather than in the Sisodia haveli having to keep one eye on his loser aunt.

I don't think it'll happen, but I really wish we could have Amit back @ some point. These morons can get rid of likable characters like Pratik, Suday, MN&G, Amit, but we still have to put up w/ Pankaj, Bhairavi, Padma and so on. Disgusting!!!
