Jyoti stares @ the file in shock & disbelief. Reshmi asks her what's the matter, but Jyoti somehow avoids her question.
In the hospital, the doctor tells Pankaj that Roshni would have to be subjected to several more tests. His phone rings, and Jyoti asks him about Roshni's father. The doctor tells her that he's Mr Vashist, but tells her that he didn't leave his full name. Jyoti tells him that she forgot to hand over Roshni's backpack, and the doc assures her that one of his staff will be there to pick it up.
After the conversation, the doc asks Pankaj what he was up to, since he lied on his behalf, had Roshni sent to Jyoti and just told Jyoti that Pankaj had taken her & left? Pankaj tells him that it was important for Roshni to spend time w/ Jyoti, and that once she's cured, he'd meet Jyoti. He tells the doc that he'd be properly compensated, and that he'd meet Jyoti at the appropriate time. He asks him to consider it a personal matter.
Jyoti starts recalling various events - like Pankaj thanking her for taking care of his kid, Bhavri asking her whether she'd have left Roshni in the care of an unknown person, no matter how important the job, her struggle w/ Pankaj leading to her accident, and what Dadi told her there. She starts wondering whether the doc lied to her, and that Roshni was actually her daughter?
Suddenly Jyoti's phone rings, & it's Dadi. Jyoti @ first thinks of telling her what she found out, but decides not to, and just inquires about family and everything, and makes it a casual conversation like any other. After the call, Jyoti wonders why she was unable to tell Dadi that Roshni was her daughter?
Kabir taps her from behind, and Jyoti gets startled. He tells her that she must be thinking about Roshni. 😆
Jyoti is @ the family shrine, and tells the goddess that she couldn't tell Kabir the truth, since she herself had no idea what the truth was. She tells the goddess that since she raised that question in her mind, she has to tell her the truth and show her the way. She decides to go to Udaipur, and if she finds out that Roshni is her daughter, she intends to tell Kabir everything. (So for once, the CV's remember that all this took place in Udaipur 👏 - I was expecting Jyoti to turn up @ the local Jeevan hospital asking them about it. )
Jyoti goes to Udaipur and confronts the doc who had been in Pankaj's pay. He reminds her that her entire family was there, plus it was 18 months ago, or he'd have had the records. Jyoti looks around and sees an orderly who looks like he knows more than what the doc is disclosing.
The orderley is walking down the hallway, when Jyoti intercepts him and drags him into a darkroom. She offers him a stash of cash (OMG!!! I can't believe this - the mahaaan Jyoti is so corrupt? 😲 Fie, fie 😈😆) She tells him that she knows that the hospital keeps 10 years of info.
In the haveli, Asha is preparing a meal, when Sumer comes in. He tells her that he's brought her tickets to visit her maayka. He reminds her that she has just 10 days left, so she might as well leave now & spare herself the heartache. (Asha, agree w/ Sumer - instead of crying, just bail out of there, and remain friends w/ Jyoti from outside, if possible)
The orderley brings Jyoti to a room, where he tells her that all the records of the month that she delivered are in that particular computer. Jyoti fills in the details, and he gives her the password, and tells her that there were 3 births that day, of which one baby was stillborn. Jyoti checks out the records, and calls one of the moms listed, pretends to be a hospital employee and asks her how her baby is doing. The mom thanks her, and tells her that it's doing fine. She calls the second mother, and that woman scolds Jyoti, telling her that her baby was stillborn and she has the gall to call her.
Jyoti is shocked, as she realizes that her baby is alive.
Finally, the mystery ends for Jyoti, although I wonder what good is it. If she tries to get it, it'll create trouble on 2 fronts - w/ Pankaj, who won't want to let Roshni out, and Chachi-sa, who won't want to let her in. All it does is that it exposes and uglier side to Pankaj than what Jyoti has been familiar w/.
Since Roshni is ill, it seems that Pankaj decided to see whether being w/ Jyoti improves her health, and is willing to let her spend time w/ Jyoti if it benefits Roshni, while trying to conceal the truth about her from Jyoti. Of course, now that Jyoti has found out, she could threaten that doc into confessing, and get Kabir on her side on this. If Pankaj can be ruined as a result, that would be richly deserved.
