Part 1

Kabir returns to Jodhpur, completely dejected. RP welcomes him and feigns disappointment that he couldn't bring Jyoti w/ him. Kabir goes inside and talks to the portrait of his late mother. Asha bhabi comforts him, and tells him that when their mother was around, the haveli was a much livelier place. She tells him that had she been around, Jyoti would not have declined the shagun. Kabir gets suspicious, but Asha-bhabi remembers Sumer's threat to kill Kabir if he finds out, and tells him that she would have persuaded Jyoti to accept. Kabir tells her that he too will see how long fate plays its games w/ him, but promises her that her bahu will be none other than Jyoti.

In their new home in Jaipur, Jyoti is comforting Padma about KK's loss, while adjusting to new prices here. In the other room, Poonam is pissed that Jyoti is still w/ them, and gets into a fight w/ Deepu.

Part 2

Just as Deepu is about to slap her, Jyoti stops him, and Dadi demands to know what's going on. Poonam repeats her contention that a woman's home is her sasural, and is pissed that Jyoti & Kabir aint an item. One thing leads to another, and finally, Poonam tells Deepu that they are all living on her dad's cash, which infuriates Deepu even more, and he tells her that she's free to go back to her maayka. Poonam is all set to go, but Jyoti puts on her grovelling act and persuades her not to.

Jyoti then goes to another room and pulls out her certificates, and tells Deepu that she does need to find a new job, and besides, what will she do sitting @ home? She agrees w/ Poonam, telling Deepu that the first rights on his income is his wife, and then his kids, and how long will he keep supporting the whole family? Deepu reminds her that she too supported the whole family when she was married, and Jyoti tells him that the circumstances were different. (Namely, it's okay for Jyoti to blow up her own marriage, but not for Deepu to blow up his)

Part 3

In Jodhpur, RP is w/ Sumer, who congratulates him on his being given a party ticket. RP is for some reason furious, and Sumer offers to take out anybody who dares oppose him. RP is not happy that none of his sons are able to support his political goals, and tells him that he's been threatened by madam (Sonia Gandhi?) that he's not taking care of the poor & that the public opinion of them are @ a low. He asks how can he, when all his sons are incapable of supporting him in that role. He reminds him that the voters are the ones who put them there, and can bring them down. Sumer asks him what's the solution? RP tells him that the party needs a new face that the public can trust.

Kabir is walking outside the haveli when he sees an argument b/w haveli security and some members of the public. The haveli staff tell him that there is an anticipated water shortage, which is why they have been asked to store water, and the public is concerned that they won't get their water if this happens. Kabir tells the haveli security to unlock that water pipeline, and they tell him that they can't disobey orders. Kabir tells them that he will go along the path of justice, as his mother taught him, and goes up to it, and turns it on. The people are thrilled by his act, as he promises them that nobody will cut the water pipeline.

RP & Sumer are observing all this from their balcony. Sumer asks him what's Kabir doing, and RP tells him that he's doing what Sumer was never able to do. As Kabir welcomes him, RP tells him that he's reminded of his late younger bro Devinder Singh. Kabir tells him that they needed the water more than the family did, and RP tells him that he saw everything, and that by opening the taps, Kabir also opened RP's eyes. (It's difficult to say whether RP is lying or not here) He said that it's very rare that any father can learn from his son, but since Kabir did that for him, he wants to give Kabir something - party membership (Kabir should join his opposition 😈) Sumer is pissed. Kabir tells RP that he has no heart for politics. RP tells him that as a normal citizen, he can serve very few people, but as a politician, w/ all the money & power, he can serve many. He invokes Kabir's mom's wishes that they repay the generousity of the gods by giving something back, and this makes Kabir think about it some more. RP thinks to himself that Kabir is his last hope - if he enters the party and serves the people, RP would get a ticket. Kabir tells him that there is one condition - he won't accept any posts, and that he'd do everything by way of service. (I'm not liking this @ all - Kabir was far better off running his media events company. As far as family goes, the job of a mayor & maharana are completely different)

In Jaipur, Jyoti enters a room in a new dark sari, and takes the arati thali from Padma, and does arati before KK's garlanded portrait. At the same time, in Jodhpur, Kabir enters the chamber where his mother's portrait is. Jyoti tells KK that now, as the eldest of his kids, his responsibilities are now hers, so she's going to start working again. Kabir tells his mom that he hopes that this new path that he is on will enable him to get Jyoti back again. The episode ends w/ a split screen - Jyoti in front of her dad, and Kabir in front of his mom.

Comments

First comments about the new set-ups. Just didn't like the Jaipur set-up of Jyoti. Then comes Padma's new polar-white widow dress - Dadi too is a widow, and she doesn't wear that. As for Jyoti & Kabir, I didn't follow either outfit. Pink just doesn't say Kabir (it might say Pankaj or KK), while Jyoti suddenly switches to a sari w/o marrying? What's the deal?

This mourning of Padma is just too much to stomach, for anybody who knew what a loveless marriage she had w/ KK. If anything, she should be relieved that KK is off her back. The 2 people who should be the most upset about KK's demise should be Dadi & Jyoti, not Padma. Padma's marriage to KK was something like, in PKCM, Kartik's marriage to Nandini.

Deepu & Poonam - why does Jyoti think it's any of her business to interfare in what goes on b/w them? If Jyoti thinks she's a burden on them, then why doesn't she separate from that house? Of course, now she has voluntarily lost Kabir. Somehow, I wasn't remotely sympathetic to Jyoti, but she did what she does best - grovel before Poonam, since Padma is no longer in that mood, and there is no one else to grovel to.

Kabir. Why go back to Jodhpur? He has his own house in Udaipur - stay there, and continue his work. Politics isn't his thing, and RP just wants to use him to salvage his flagging popularity. I hope Kabir exits politics quickly - as it is, Sumer didn't seem @ all thrilled by his dad wanting Kabir to join the party. I hope Sumer develops a rebellious attitude and talks Kabir out of it, and in return, gives him the go-ahead to get Jyoti.

Speaking of which, RP's anger seemed somewhat strange. Royal family members generally have a clout of their own, since a section of voters would vote for them no matter what. So all he'd have to do would be to threaten to switch parties.

All in all, a pretty depressing episode. I am beginning to think that the serial will go in parallel for some time, and end w/ Jyoti and Kabir running into each other again, and deciding to marry - it won't continue beyond that.

i'm beginning to think that there is going to be a leap in the show, which is not good because i wanted jyoti to find out about roshni first and punish pankaj for stealing her in the first place. looks like we have to wait and see when that raaz will come out.

I'm guessing the white saree will fade into a beige-ish colored one, like Dadi wears, after a few episodes. Since Padma has only recently become a widow, she may have to wear it for a week or so. As for Jyoti wearing a saree, I guess its just a way for the creatives to show Jyoti maturing as a character.

This mourning of Padma is just too much to stomach, for anybody who knew what a loveless marriage she had w/ KK. If anything, she should be relieved that KK is off her back. I agree here... I can't digest the idea of Padma being more upset over this death than Dadi or Jyoti. I definitely feel like, other than some flashback scenes, we really didn't see Jyoti or Dadi or anyone else as affected as they should've been. Something to note though - Padma is NOT blaming Jyoti for KK's death. I'm kind of shocked by that... even though it is a good thing!!

Deepu & Poonam - why does Jyoti think it's any of her business to interfare in what goes on b/w them? If Jyoti thinks she's a burden on them, then why doesn't she separate from that house? As soon as I heard Poonam ranting to Deepu how much of a burden Jyoti is, I was sure that Jyoti wud here and and finallyyyy decide to live elsewhere and support herself. Getting a job is a good move, I have a feeling its going to be social work this time (maybe its the saree😆). Infact, that may lead her all the way to Kabir. She may unknowingly walk into the Sisodiya haveli and encounter Kabir face-to-face one day.

Kabir. Why go back to Jodhpur? He has his own house in Udaipur - stay there, and continue his work. Politics isn't his thing, and RP just wants to use him to salvage his flagging popularity. Yea, I was kind of upset as well seeing Kabir returning to Jodhpur. I also found it strange that he never even tried searching for Brij/Sushma or even Poonam's family. They would surely know where Jyoti and gang are.

Speaking of which, RP's anger seemed somewhat strange. Royal family members generally have a clout of their own, since a section of voters would vote for them no matter what. So all he'd have to do would be to threaten to switch parties.

I've been getting the feeling that they may do a small 1-yr leap soon. It would be unrealistic showing Kabir and Jyoti running into each other 'accidently' soooo soon.

Padma not blaming Jyoti, when her Udaipur neighbors did, surprised me as well. And she was silent in the face-off b/w Deepu & Poonam. But if Jyoti is going to move out of there, why not return to Udaipur, where it would be a lot easier? After all, the only reason she's moved to Jaipur is that her family has moved, but if she's not going to stay w/ them, might as well have stayed in her home in Udaipur. Incidentally, no mention of their selling that house, which is in KK's name? What are they - rolling on cash?

Also, good point about Brij - even though Kabir may not know the Trivedis, he does know Brij & Sushma well enough, and had he gone to them, he may have found out where Jyoti was headed.

One more thing about a 1 year leap - normally, it's customary that after the death of a father, one cannot marry for 1 year, so even if Jyoti were to meet Kabir within that time, she'd not be able to marry him then. But after a year, there'd be no such problems. By then, Kabir may actually find out what all really happened on his end, and w/ a bit of luck, maybe even what exactly chachi said to Jyoti. That way, it would be easier for him to clear any misunderstandings w/ Jyoti.

Thanks Vrisha for the update as usual I enjoyed reading it .I do'nt agree with you for returing Kabir to Udaipur since I think it 's necessary for him to learn some more about his family and enterning to politics it ' s a good chance to have power in the Haveli and among the people of Jodpur to show the corruption of his father .I think if he go backs to Udaipur, the spies of RP are always followed him and if he find Jyoti his life always endenger .kabir was never agreed with RP as in the Mandir when he told about his family to Jyoti he refers that his father is an ambious politian and he"Kabir" asked him what is the need of earning money more and where did he want to go?
And for Jyoti is a good chance to find herself again and I hope at the end they meet each other in Their Mandir in Udaipur .I always love the Romantic side of story.

Anu

I too am no longer sure how much longer I'm going to watch this. Jyoti getting back to work is good provided she moves out and works only for herself, not to ensure that Deepu's salary is spent on only Poonam, while Jyoti supports Dadi and that leech Padma. Rakt Sambandh starts Monday, & I can start following Sriti, imagining her as Sudha. At least start watching something good. Also, I've shifted my attention to PKCM, since out there, Paro is bringing in the same relief that Kabir brought when he first came in.
