Okay, since a lot of the names of the family members are long and confusing, I'm going to shorten them up a bit.
Kabir's dad = RP
Kabir's eldest bro = Samer
Kabir's 2nd elder bro = Raghu
Kabir's bhabhi = Asha
Kabir's Chachi = Chachi
July 5, 2010 Written Update

Samer notices Kabir looking disturbed and assures him that Chachi fixed this rishta for him, and Chachi can never be wrong. He tells him that if he has any doubts he can talk to Chachi himself. Chachi comes down the stairs and tells Kabir that Ragini is the name of the girl who is going to marry him, and she is her sister's daughter and a member of the famous Shikawat family. They have a huge clothing empire, and are a very powerful family. Chachi assures him that just like she successfully fixed the rishta's of his brothers; his relationship with Ragini will also be successful. Kabir tells her that still; he wants to talk to his dad. Samer yells at him for questioning Chachi's judgement and Raghu tells him that his dad is busy in a meeting. (wow, so suddenly women are no longer doormats i guess😕) Later, Kabir is in his room and Asha is telling him that she warned him this would happen, and she had told him earlier that his fate had already been decided here. Kabir takes Jyoti's dupatta and wraps it around his neck, and assures Asha that he will fight for acceptance of his love. (sweet gesture😳, if only Jyoti had equal faith in her love... find out in the following scene)

In Jyoti's house, in the front room Padma and Dadi are talking about jewelry for the wedding. Poonam is watching this and thinks abt how much Deepu is spending and glad that Jyoti will be his last responsibility. Padma inquires to Deepu about KK's health, and Deepu says that KK will remain in the hospital longer. Poonam comes there and starts talking about how Kabir hasn't called, and how she thinks that there may have been an accident. Jyoti listens to this from afar and is worried.

Jyoti tries calling Kabir, and Kabir tries calling her at the same time. Both get the message that the line is busy. Suddenly, Kabir sees his conscience talking to him. His conscience asks why he is calling Jyoti, and if he will really tell about his marriage being fixed. Kabir answers yes, and Jyoti will always stand by him. His conscience reminds him that Jyoti never wanted to separate a son from his family, and she might purposely get herself out of your way so you can live with your family. (as sad as it is, his conscience got it spot on😆) Kabir starts screaming at it, but his conscience disappears. Jyoti calls Kabir again, but Kabir doesn't pick up, confused at what to say to her. There, Deepu and the rest enter Jyoti's room. Poonam suggests calling Kabir from Deepu's cell. Kabir picks up Deepu's call, but is unable to say anything over Deepu's yelling. Jyoti takes the phone from Deepu and tries talking to Kabir. Before he can reply much back, he sees Samer standing beside him and Kabir tells Jyoti that he'd call her back and hangs up.

Everyone asks Jyoti what happened and she tells them that Kabir said he's call back later. Poonam starts ranting about how Kabir was a cheat and a fraud and he never planned on marrying a divorcee girl like Jyoti. (and they actually listen to her...) Deepu screams out at Poonam to stop and decides to go looking for Kabir. Poonam tells him that they have no idea where he lives; because all they know is that he's from a rich family, and who knows if that was a lie too. Jyoti looks on sadly.đŸ€ą

Meanwhile at the haveli, Samer takes Kabir's phone away from him and tells him that he's getting a new phone and a new number, so he doesn't have to worry about his old one. Kabir demands to speak to his dad, but Samer tells him that RP is out to Delhi on business. He takes Kabir towards where Chachi is making a public announcement abt Kabir's marriage to some reporters. Once the reporters are gone, Chachi tells Kabir that she thought it would be okay making the announcement since she's sure he'd like Ragini. Kabir sternly tells Chachi that he will not do this marriage.👏👏👏 End.

Comments:
Today, I felt, was quite a weak episode with many loopholes. The first one being Jyoti and her family's very little faith in Kabir. He walks out on them, they bash him, he comes back, they are happy, they send him away, they bash him. Jyoti especially shouldn't expect so little of a man she claims to love. The Sharma scenes today were unbearable, literally. The second blaring loophole would have to be Chachi's character. In the family, she seems to be highly esteemed and looked up to. So much that Samer yelled at Kabir for not trusting her judgement. Okay, so when were women so highly regarded in this house? She seems to be at equal importance as RP, so much that she's making imp announcements in his absence. Also, since she had no bindi or sindoor on her forehead im guessing that she's a widow, esp since Chacha is missing. And seeing the kind of mentally this family had, that should make all the more reason for her to be treated like the rest of the women in this house. The only plus points in today's episode would only be Kabir and his faith in his love - although I felt his conscience was a little more reasonable when it came to predicting how Jyoti would react.

I really liked the conversation b/w the 2 Kabirs. While the real one had his faith in Jyoti, the other one seemed more real - briefing him about how to placate Jyoti, he'd have to satisfy his family, to satisfy his family, he'd have to abandon Jyoti, and how in the end, he'd just be left isolated!!! While there was that devilish aura about Kabir's image talking to him, that 2nd Kabir seemed pretty well aware of the masochistic nature of Jyoti, as you noted.

I too was struck by how Chachi gets to call any shots in this family, where men are supreme. Please don't tell me she'll be the new Bhairavi - I'd much prefer Sumer steamrolling things on his own, or w/ the help of RP. And if she's a widow, which did seem like it from her white sari, it's unbelievable that she has any position of influence - and besides, shouldn't she be in her sasural?

As I noted in a dug up thread, one thing Poonam was right about - the Sharmas would never have allowed Deepu to marry a divorcee either, and we saw that in January, when Baby Mausi brought such proposals to Padma. But the way they dwell over whether he's charged his phone is unbelievable. Shouldn't they allow him some time for talking to his family, instead of expecting him to call them back the minute he arrived home? And had Jyoti discussed his family w/ him more, and found out who was who, and who he was close to and @ odds w/, she'd probably have known what to expect better.

Kabir himself was pretty insufferable throughout today's episode, except @ the end. And his bro just snatches his phone from him, and he lets him? Is it just his gun he's scared of? The only saving grace was @ the end, when he cut to the chase by bluntly telling her that he was not marrying her choice.

This episode was ok. I have heard that women in most of royal families (especially daughter in laws) are kept more restricted and at the same time elders women rules too.

So some part of episode was acceptable but the only thing indigestible was Jyoti's

reaction. 😡 I don't understand in one day how Jyoti's mind can be disturbed and have

no faith in Kabir. While she knew that it was Kabir who told her not leave him

even his family don't accept them đŸ„±.

Padma and Poonam's reaction can be acceptable as that the way their character

are been portrait; but Jyoti no

. she should have at least told that what ever

Poonam was thinking could be wrong.

And now once more time Kabir has to prove and they accept him again and will happy.

But since she is Kabir's chachi - that would mean she would be RP's brother's wife. So in one sense, she is a daughter-in-law of the family.
@Vrisha - Since she's a bahu, it makes sense for her to live here... since it is her sasural.
