Normally, no, but since Pankaj doubts that the baby is his in the first place, she's right in that context.

Actually, I think both Jyoti & Sushma should adapt out their babies after they are born, and restart w/o such burdens.

Ahh, come on it is not the babies faults that their fathers are bad. And babies are not a burden but a gift from God. If God give them is because he know they can handle it. I find Jyoti did right. He saying that the baby is not his, which mean he is saying that Jyoti betray him. Which mean he never did really trust Jyoti in the frist place. and he is denying his child so why after a he learn the child is his should he get rights to the child. Why can't he believe Jyoti's words. Why he needs proof.

^^^Given what Jyoti had witheld from him for a year, it's legitimate for him to demand proof of anything. Although if he doesn't want to believe that the kid is his, Jyoti is right to ask him to deny himself that as well. Jyoti doesn't have the right to be unquestionably believed by Pankaj, or for that matter, any of the Vashisths. Pankaj knows that Jyoti betrayed him in terms of Brij, Sushma, so why should he believe that Jyoti was true to him re: the baby?

Kids may be gifts from god, but they need both parents be in a functioning married relationship. They don't exist for the ego gratification of either their mom or dad. For both Jyoti & Sushma, their kids will be a burden. Sushma's kid will distract its mom from the other things she needs to do, such as study, get a minimal proficiency in education and then get a job to support both herself and the kid. Jyoti's kid will just add to her burden, which right now is to financially support not just herself, but her family in a big way.

In both cases, the kids will not only be burdens to their moms, but as time goes on, their education too would be an important issue for both, and both Jyoti & Sushma will have to make who knows what type of sacrifices. And Jyoti's vow to be a good dad is just plain stupid: the best moms can't make good dads, and vice versa: the roles are completely different. Therefore, in both cases, adaption, not to sishu mangal but to parents who are looking to adapt babies, should be the way to go.

Of course, neither of them will do that, and then everyone in the house will bellyache about what a burden it is. In that environment, if Poonam wants Deepu to come out w/ her, who can blame her?
