February 1, 2010 Written Update

Jyoti drops the thali. Padma comes there screaming at her for dropping it. She tells her to replace it before anyone sees what happened. Sushma helps Jyoti clean up and notices her dazed expression. Jyoti goes in to her room, crying and remembering moments with Pankaj. The tilak is about to happen but everyone asks where Jyoti is. Padma, Sushma, and Sudha all go looking for her and Sudha finds her in the corner of the room. Jyoti brushes it off saying she's not feeling well but Padma coaxes her into attending the tilak for Deepu's sake. Jyoti stands there with a smile, but Kalpana notices her uneasiness.

Afterwards, when the entire girl's family is gone… Sushma tells them all how Pankaj sent divorce papers to Jyoti, and that's why she's been looking so down all day long. All are shocked.

In Vashisht house, CM is cursing Jyoti and also notices Meenal's upset face. Meenal asks… what if Jyoti says no to the divorce? CM assures her that with the amount of money promised, Jyoti's family won't let her say no. She tells Meenal to go shopping for her Bidaai. End.

I wonder if Bhairavi will ever learn her lesson I doubt it though. This show is from the same production house as Saath Phere and Balika Vadu, where characters that were originally evil always remian evil. Like Padma or Bhairavi. I wonder if Pankaj actually knows about the divorce papers or if she sent them herself Since Uday was right there and also found out about the papers, I hope he does something about it. Though I wonder what he can do, Pankaj is so hard headed. Thanks Kru Yuks

^Well, assuming that the divorce papers are already signed by Pankaj, I guess he does know about it. And I'm pretty sure he knows all about it, the foolish, ignorant person he is. I was glad seeing Uday there too... but it seems these days he has no say amongst his other family members.

I too think that Pankaj knows about it, and that it was done with his consent. On Friday, they showed him agreeing to CM's demand that he end his relationship w/ Jyoti, so it wouldn't have been a big leap to assume that she also persuaded him to sign this. Do the above profile of evil characters also happen to be as stupid? The last time Bhairavi tried to bribe someone - Sudha - into ending her marriage, she almost lost Uday as a result, and had to go grovelling to the much hated Jyoti to get Uday back, even if it be w/ Sudha. (That's one thing I hate about Jyoti - had Uday been allowed to leave, Sudha wouldn't be as unhappy as she is now. Was Jyoti really idiotic enough to think that Uday would miss CM as much as he'd miss Sudha? He didn't show it during CM's vacation in Mumbai.) This time, she's trying to bribe Jyoti, and if this was w/o Pankaj even knowing, then she'd be in a bigger soup, since Pankaj, had his relationship w/ Jyoti been normal, would have thrown CM out of that mansion. Which is why I tend to think CM had Pankaj do this, rather than do it behind his back.

However, I doubt that anyone in the family aside from Minal knows that this is a quid pro quo by Bhairavi designed to get Minal back in her sasural: if they knew that Bhairavi was pimping Pankaj in order to save Minal, I doubt they'd tolerate it, no matter how unhappy they are w/ Jyoti. It was one thing when CM was doing it to Uday, where she could at least claim that she was doing it to her own son to save her own daughter's marriage: now, she'd be destroying the existing and pre-eminent marriage in the household for this, and that won't be acquiesced by the family as easily as the earlier decisions were. I do wish someone exposes Bhairavi in all this, or best yet, Pankaj discovers it for himself, and blows his top. Thinking about it now, that's the only scenario where I can see Pankaj regret being so cruel to Jyoti and trying to get her back.

However, I do hope that if that's the plan, Pankaj doesn't marry Neelam. I also have a theory here that Neelam's family wants to humiliate the Vashisths back and have drawn Kesav-ji into this plot. The plot being that they'd get the Vashisths to agree to Pankaj marrying Neelam, and on the day of the tilak, Neelam shows up at his place married to someone else, and all this info is known to Kesav-ji but kept from Bhairavi. If this happens, the Vashisth family izzat will be down the toilet, and Pankaj's only hope this time would be to reconcile w/ Jyoti.

Any guesses as to which of the above it will be?

So many theories, but all I say is why is everyone in the Sharma family so surprised? Esp Jyoti? Was she thinking that she will get back into the house? Esp AFTER Pankaj doubts the paternity of his own child? I would not go back to such a husband even if he killed himself for me. Ugh!

My only hope is that Padma does not see the papers. She is sure to drool!!! Seeing all that $$$, I can bet she will somehow convince her golden goose to slit her own throat.

I pray that in today's episode they show Uday snatching the papers from Sush's hand and taking it back to Pankaj BEFORE Padma gets a chance to see it.

And yes, Vrisha, the evil characters in the other serials remain pig heads till the show is to end, in which case, there is an overnight transformation, and all is hunky dory!

But I think that Pankaj do not know about the divorce notice and all is done by CM and I am wonder why she hates her so much .But I am sure that she will not succesful in her plan .She cant buy everyone as she couldnt do anything for her daughter Meenal as well .Jyoti will have another storm in her life again but when the truth come out and it reveals that Divorce Notice was sent to jyoti by CM .The Pankaj 's mind will automaticaly works and he can understand His Huge Mistake and what he is done to Jyoti and will regret .This is my Idea

Sudha and Uday are in his room, and she is crying and blaming herself for all this happening. She says that Jyoti is suffering b'cos she had eloped w/ Uday, and that if she had not succumbed to his temptations, then Pankaj would not be under pressure to marry and Jyoti's marriage would be intact.

Uday steps up to comfort her, but she yells at him, opens her pills bottle and pops a whole bunch of pills into her mouth.

So looks like they found out that CM was trying to pimp Pankaj into marrying Neelam, which was the motivating factor behind her driving this divorce? Why is Sudha the one tense here - the entire family should be up in arms against CM & Minal, regardless of what they think about Jyoti. After all, how is it okay for CM to destroy the marriage of the eldest son, and then pimp him to satisfy her daughter's selfish ends? And why couldn't CM have offered Pratik instead of Pankaj - there no marriages would have been broken up (and Pratik's rishta scenario is unclear).

Let's say Sudha's scenario had occurred - Uday had married Neelam. After that, then? Sooner or later, Brij would still have found out about the fact that the Vashisths knew nothing about Sushma, and could have played the identical game, w/ the only difference being that he'd never have spoken to Sudha over the phone. Other than that, zilch. And at the end of it all, Jyoti would still have been kicked out, and CM, who hated her anyway, wouldn't have stopped Pankaj. Only difference - let's forget about Sudha, but Uday would have been really unhappy.

It was unclear whether the pills Sudha popped into her mouth were those anti-depressants so that she didn't turn into Devika, or whether they were sleeping pills.

Why is Sudha being ridiculous now? Gosh, I wish these people start growing a brain, or Sudha at least turns into Devika and knocks some sense into everyone's heads.

If she is going to pop pills instead of walking up to Pankaj and confronting him, then forget it...I am out of this serial.
