After throwing the tea at Brij, Jyoti flees the scene and runs into another room, where she bumps into Sudha. Sudha asks her what's the deal, and a panic-stricken Jyoti tells her that Brij is back. Sudha cautions her that this is not the place, and takes her into her room. Jyoti tells her that he is there to destroy all their lives. Jyoti laments that despite being under all these compulsions, she can do nothing. He dares insult her hubby right in front of her. She couldn't tolerate it, and threw tea at him. Sudha is stunned.
Brij goes into another room, taking off his jacket and runs into Minal (oh, great!!! Actually, they should start seeing each other 😆😆😆) She asks him whether he needed to see anybody, and he tells her that he's a friend of Pankaj, and introduces himself. Minal lights up and greets him, recognizing him as the guy who had helped Pankaj. She introduces herself as well. She then recognizes that something is wrong w/ his shirt. Brij tells her that some tea had accidentally spilt on his shirt, and he wanted the bathroom so that he could wash it. Minal tells him that there's no need for that, and that she'd give him another (how sweet. She's really a good candidate to replace Sushma🤣). Brij then follows her to another room.
Pankaj has come out after changing, and looks for Jyoti and Brij in the 'lounge', neither of who is there. He looks for them and while coming down, thinks to himself that Jyoti's taken Brij to introduce him to the whole family (ha!!! She's more likely to introduce Sushma before that).
Jyoti tells Sudha that she cannot tolerate any insults @ Pankaj anymore, and that today, right now, she's going to go and tell Pankaj everything. Sudha stops her and tells her that she understands her situation, but the result of such a move could go either way (does Sudha also realize that if Brij is the one who ultimately tells Pankaj, the result will go only one way - against not just Jyoti, but herself as well?) Jyoti protests that what else can she do? Without the truth, they can't exit this trap. And Sudha too knows how low Brij can go. How much are they expected to tolerate? Sudha tells her to take courage, and that one day, they'll tell everybody everything. But now's not the right time. She suggests talking to their parents and they'd show them the right way, being their elders. (What BS in this case) Jyoti tries to protest but Sudha reminds her that the gods ultimately come down on the side of truth & righteousness (yeah, but for that, they need to be truthful). She asks Jyoti to keep faith, and hope that they'll show them the right way. If she keeps faith, everything will be okay. But if she suddenly tells them everything about Sushma, all their relationships will be disrupted. Jyoti says that she wont let that happen, and Sudha tells her to gather herself, and come outside. (Aside from the rotten advice Sudha is giving Jyoti, she is the one who looks totally confident, while Jyoti is a bundle of nerves). Her sudden disappearance could make Pankaj wonder what's up w/ her. Jyoti says she'll go, but doesn't know to what extent can she control herself.
Downstairs, Brij is sitting w/ the rest of the family - Pankaj, BM, MN, CM, Uday and Minal. Brij is telling them some story in which he paints himself as someone who doesn't take fees from his parents (I couldn't make this out - some cock & bull story, but not one related to Jyoti or Sushma). All the family members look impressed hearing this story. Jyoti & Sudha are coming down, and hear him at the part where he says that the smile on the student's face is his greatest fee 😆😆😆Jyoti points out to Sudha all the bs he's spouting to ensnare people the way he once did first her, and then Sushma. Brij continues that many people who meet him say that there ain't another like him, and Sudha stares at Jyoti and they both come down. In the living room, Jyoti is shocked to see Brij wearing a burgundy shirt she got specially for Pankaj (she gets flashback of her giving Pankaj that shirt) and has a pained look. Sudha calms her, and they both go into the living room.
MN tells Jyoti that she missed Brij's tale, which brought tears to their eyes. Jyoti looks at Brij. MN asks Brij to recount it, but Jyoti interrupts him and tells him that she overheard it. CM looks like 'what's new'. Brij remarks to everyone that it seems that Jyoti-ji is angry w/ him. He says it's probably over nothing - like her not liking his shirt. It's after all Pankaj's, and a wife doesn't like her hubby's stuff being shared w/ anyone else. Brij offers to change it back, but Jyoti, in the normal hostile tone that she uses w/ Brij, tells him to let it be. After all, Pankaj-ji wont wear it again. Brij smiles and says that she means to say that this shirt looks better on him than Pankaj? (It's funny to see Brij taunt Jyoti right in front of everyone) Jyoti & Sudha are unimpressed, but the others - MN, CM and Minal, find it funny and Brij thanks Pankaj a lot for that shirt. (CM & Minal look like they've found a new soulmate in Brij)
At the Sharmas, the phone rings and Sushma, seeing it, is scared but picks it up nonetheless. It's Brij, after he's left the Vashisths. He tells her that money has a way of developing wings, and asks her to come to him and give him Rs5000. Sushma tells him that he's mad, and where would she get more money? She just gave him Rs2000. Brij tells her that he had bought a shirt w/ it, but Jyoti threw tea on it and spoilt it, so he needs another so that he'd be fit to be w/ the Vashisths. He tells her to get it from Jyoti, if nowhere else - after all, it was Jyoti who spoilt his shirt, and would have to pay for it, and what is Rs5000 for her - just a drop in the bucket. Sushma tells him that she can't ask it from Jyoti, and if Jyoti knew it was for Brij, she wouldn't give it anyway. He tells her to not tell her then. Brij tells her to think of something, or else, he would, and he could only think of their destruction. Brij says that since she called him a monster, to see his demonly powers. Sushma remarks on how low he has gone (yeah, fat good such remarks will do). Brij tells her that she can tell him anything, but these days, verbal abuse is like praise to him. He expects that she will come, or else, she knows the consequences.
Jyoti gives Sushma an envelope, and lovingly tells her that this is the cash that she always deposited in the post office, and that other than that, she has nothing. She tells her that everything will be alright. She knows that Sushma doesn't want to bother their parents, and offers to take her to the doctor, but Sushma tells her that she'd let her know if she needed anything. Jyoti asks her why the doctor asked her to take tests all of a sudden? Sushma tells her that when she was first pregnant, Brij had hit her, and the doctor wanted to know if there was any damage done to the fetus. (Apparently, Sushma had told Jyoti that the money was for pregnancy related tests, rather than Brij's blackmail. A liar being lied to 😆😆😆) Jyoti tells her that she's happy to know that she's taking such good care of her baby, but to take care of herself as well, and obey the doctor, and not to supress anything from her, no matter what (ironic comment, given what Jyoti herself has been doing. But then again, the last 2 weeks have been dripping w/ irony). Jyoti offers to drop her, but she tells her that she has a different route. Jyoti lets her go.
Sushma heads to the bench where Brij is seated, and he congratulates her, telling her that one sister has learnt lying at the knees of the other (Brij is almost voicing my views here 😆😆😆) Sushma looks embarrassed. He runs his finger on her cheek, and Sushma tries to slap him, but he intercepts her hand. He's impressed that even today, she's so excitable. He says that he too needs to play, and tries to force her to come w/ him. Sushma asks him how he even thinks that she'd go w/ him, but Brij says that he knows that she would come w/ him. He opens the envelope and checks the cash, and continues that she's still his lawfully wedded wife, and therefore, he still has a right to her. She tells him that she has no relationship w/ him, and so he agrees, saying that there isn't one. However, there is another relationship she has, for which she has to come w/ him, and that is her sister Jyoti. He tells her that Jyoti has raised her, done everything for her, and now she wants to ruin Jyoti in turn? Sushma tells him no, never, and Brij grabs her by the hair, and tells her that she does her own solid drama, and then does another when it comes to accompanying her husband? Sushma tries to break free, and tells him that she's about to become the mother of his child, and yet he's behaving w/ her like that? Brij laughs, and asks her whether it's his baby or Thakkar's or yet someone else's? He remarks that she's carrying god-know's-whose offspring in her womb, and wants to pin it on him. He catches her by the hair, and told her that this kid doesn't have a father - it is a bas***d. Sushma is outraged and tells him that whatever he did w/ her, he did, but not to dare abuse her baby. Brij does a mock shudder, and laughs, and asks her to stop the drama. He says that he knows her game, but he wont pay her anything. He offers to instead let Jyoti live peacefully for a few days, and grabs Sushma. She demands to let her go, and tells him that even if she dies, she wont go w/ him, and he slaps her hard. He tells her that she seems very fond of dying, and to come w/ him right then, or get killed right there. Sushma screams, and Jyoti, who's about to get into an auto, turns around and sees Sushma & someone struggling.
Sushma is standing in front of her mirror, and picks up a blade. She resolves to finish herself, convincing herself that once she is dead, nobody can do any damage to Jyoti. She then attempts to slit her wrists.
Today, finally, Brij met the rest of the family, and floored them. CM & Minal seemed to enjoy how here was one guy who could handle Jyoti, and were impressed by it. The rest of them were all taken in by his tall tales. Unlike the other night when Pankaj couldn't tell Jyoti's facial expressions, this time, Jyoti's facial expressions were there for all to see, especially CM & Minal.
Sudha looked confident, except that she was giving Jyoti bad advice. After all the months of loving Sudha, I'm disappointed in her: seems like the creatives want to give her a negative aura, where none existed, and this is their way of doing it - by encouraging Jyoti to withold this important detail from her family, despite the consequences it's having on everyone around her.
And Sushma - it's high time she tell others in the family that she's being blackmailed, instead of stealthily submitting to it. I wonder how they didn't show Deepu discovering that Rs2000 was missing from his wallet - after all, he isn't CM who'll not notice these things. If Sushma goes on like this, sooner or later, she'll end up in a bodybag, and her family won't be able to do squat about it due to the necessity to keep Jyoti's secret from the Vashisths. Aside from that, the way Sushma lied to Jyoti left, right and center was something to behold.
This track is now getting dragged on. It's high time they either had Jyoti confess to the Vashisths, or let Brij bring down the hammer.
