When I first started watching Jyoti I was not too enthusiastic about it, since the show seemed to me to carry a very pessimistic tone. It seemed to be a 40s concept where the heroine sacrifices everything for her family and gets nothing in return. So the heroine would be Meena Kumari type sobbing tragedy queen.

When things began to pick up pace and Pankaj entered the show, I was happy to see a young good looking person for Jyoti.

And, again when Jyoti found out all about her useless step mom and sister I was happy .

Now this stupid track of "Pankaj throwing Jyoti out of his house" is not just disgusting, but is a throw back to the tragedy queen status of Jyoti and I must say it is really not appealing. That home is hers as well as his after marriage.

It is highly irresponsible for the makers to loosely use terms like husband throwing out wife. It might get them some immediate sympathy from the audience but a strong audience that loves their offerings, I do not think so. To talk in such terms about Jyoti is derogatory and regressive.

I would prefer Jyoti to enjoy the ups and downs of a normal woman's life, since she appears normal in every other way.

I agree with you completely. Since they show Jyoti to be a strong willed character in the show, there should not be such terms used in regard to her.
Also, if we get to see the way Jyoti struggles after allegedly being "thrown out" as it was so carelessly put, it would be a treat. The only thing i would never want to see again is Jyoti trying to commit suicide like she did earlier in the serial. It surely put me off that such a strong woman could get so emotional and vulnerable.

But I think the suicide is a realistic portrayal of what can happen - even a strong person can fall in strength after everything around her is found to be false. And, the fact that Pankaj saved her and helped her out of the situation showed that Pankaj and Jyoti were indeed a couple because it was not just Jyoti helping him, but he will also take care of her despite his disability.
