Unfair' was the first word that popped up in the Shehzaade's mind too. However, he decided to say nothing just then. Maybe it was that veneer of cruelty that was a part of him, like skin. Maybe it was simple curiosity. But, he wanted to see what cards the other player would bring up, to stay in the game.

Lavanya how is everything on your end dear? Your FIL? Looks like you and your hubby take turns going the hospital. Is someone always there to keep an eye on him? I meant one of you.

My FIL had a caretaker since 1 year, he stayed in the house 24/7. So when he was in the hospital the caretaker slept in the hospital room itself. Of course he is not a trained nurse but was able to check his blood sugar, feed, bathe, give medicines (at home).

He was behaving like a child in his last months, stubborn, throwing tantrums to take insulin 😕. MIL dedicated her time to take care of him from morning till night. It was tough to watch all this.
