Selvi, just googled this Bhangarh fort.

It was built by Jodha Begum's bro Bhagwan Das for his son Madho Singh ( Man Singh's brother). And there is the tale of a tantrik falling in love with MS's granddaughter Ratnavati , trying to trick her and her oversmarting and killing him. But he cursed the place before he died! Ever since it is haunted by her ghost and that of her people. 🤓

Dadu's sister bhashan dekar maarti thi. Aur Ratnavati Sahiba bhoot bankar marti hai sabko!😲😆

🤣🤣...OMG

PALACE, THE CAPITAL
1)
It is the red fort indeed. The main residence of the Mughal emperors till capital shifted from Agra to Delhi.
And Sandy my sweetheart, i just checked - it was your beloved, Akbar, indeed who began construction of this. Of course, Shah Jahan beautified it and it is because of his love for art/architecture that it takes on the form that we see today.
So yes, this is indeed the Red Fort, Agra, where our 'Shehzaade' currently is.
And where Akbar visits monthly.

PARNAGARH HAVELI
2)
It is the Parnagarhi courtyard. Inspired from an actual merchant's Haveli in Rajasthan.

HUNTING GROUNDS - MAHENDAR'S TENT
3)
This is called a jungle serai. A current tent in the Madhav National Park in Madhya Pradesh. This national park lies close to borders of UP and comes in the way when you pass through MP to get to Rajasthan. It used to be a popular hunting ground for kings of yesteryears.
I imagine its a forest like this where Mahendar pitched his tents and hunted for game when the messenger escapes the Aidabad safe house ends up blurting all that information to him.

AIDABAD HAVELI
4)
This is an actual Haveli in UP (not many of those in good condition around). See the difference in architecture (Mughal style) unlilke the Havelis of Rajasthan.

IMPERIAL PRISON AND DUNGEONS, THE CAPITAL
5)
This is Salimgarh fort right next to the Agra red fort, which Aurangazeb turned into the Imperial prison and dungeons. It's where he even imprisoned his own daughter till her death (for not following her father's beliefs!) and a few other royals too!😔
There were underground rooms too.
This forms the inspiration for the dungeons where Akbar is currently being held.
For those who guessed safe house 😳- a safe-house would be very discreet, small and hidden. More like a den. Easy to hide, easy to destroy if discovered etc. This is quite a massive structure and would be difficult to miss. 😳

PARNAGARH
6)
Structures like this on green sloping valleys of Rajasthan inspired the Parnagarh Haveli. 😳
This particular one is the fort that Selvi mentioned

A CELL IN THE DUNGEONS
7)
This is actually a cell from the Salimgarh fort. It appears modernised because that fort was then captured by the Britishers and used by them to hold and torture Indian prisoners and slaves. 😔They say Salimgarh fort is haunted too - by cries of all those who died there.

CARAVANSERAI
8)
This is an artist's actual description of the massive Caravanserai in Agra... one of the stopping points for AMK's men to pass on messages etc.
I can understand though why this would be mistaken for a palace seeing how massive its gates look. But yes, they were massive structures... 😊

1/8...
7 - I've randomly put as dungeons...so don't know if I get marks...
8 - I saw camel too and thought it was Jagdamba temple Parikrama route...

No worries, it's ok dear!

For the last picture I never ever would have written Caravanserai

For the fifth one: For those who guessed safe house 😳- a safe-house would be very discreet, small and hidden. More like a den. Easy to hide, easy to destroy if discovered etc. This is quite a massive structure and would be difficult to miss. 😳

You are right on this one, I didn't think about it at all

I have 5/8 correct 😔, but I did learn about these forts and havelis!

It's no secret that you have done lot of research even before you started writing this beautiful novel and you still continue to do it! 👏

Thank you for educating us on these forts, obviously there is so much history we are not aware of!

LASHY SUPER QUIZ DEAR 😆 AND SUPERB PICS 👏

I THINK I GOT 5/8 IF YOU COUNT THE SOLITARY CONFINEMENT ROOM AS PART OF THE ROYAL PRISON 😉 THIS FORT, AS YOU RIGHTLY SAID IS PART OF THE AGRA FORT COMPLEX

THE ROOM IN THE DUNGEON SEEMS FAR TOO WELL LIT. I THOUGHT THESE PLACES ARE DARK AND DINGY

THE CARAVANSERAI PIC WAS A SURPRISE FOR ME 😭 👏
