Just to clarify the 1st pic is of the prasads. I could not get a pic of the sweet & hot pongal prasads which we get inside the temple which is the upper level on the pic below.

The 2nd pic is the food you can get from the temple kitchen which sits at the lower level for a small donation of $2.00 each. Since the temple attracts a lot of visitors in state & out of state during the weekends the hot dishes empties out fast where we can dine in or take out with us on our trip back home.

Here is the pic of the temple which sits on a hill - it was a bit of a cloudy day.

Aunty - I was over whelmed when I read this post so late after my trip.

To know that we were relishing a lot of his poetry recently while his birthday was around the corner. His short life of almost of 39 years was so full of Tamil poetic excellence of the last century.

I also read all the poems you had posted & enjoyed reading them. The musings on AMK's childhood - the pic of the little AMK was heart wrenching, Thanks for sharing all of them.

I have not watched Shivaji's Sabash Meena but recall vaguely my Mom mentioning it. I'll look it up in You tube & watch it.
