Azeez was jolted out of his reviere by the sharp tone of Kuki who till then was a personification of innocence and cuteness. She no w looked like a mixture of icy cold anger and smoldering rage.
"Whom are you looking at?"
"This lady is supposed to be a beauty. There she is up at the balcony. I was just looking up to see how insufficient she is when compared to you!" Azeez gulped remembering her reaction the previous time he looked at another lady.
Kuki Sahiba was stumped! She was unsure how to react. She simply shrugged that sent the little froggie earlier perched on her shoulders into a trajectory into the darkness.
SPLASH...
" Shah Sahib! Such a small froggie jumped with such a huge splash! Funny! Isn't it? " Kuki chuckled
"Errr...yes" Azeez hastened to agree. But his mind was intent on storing away the jasmines for another purpose.
In the darkness
Kalgiakka was watching the pair intently from the darkness careful not to be seen. She noted the melting expression in the man's eyes when he looked up at the mansion balcony and the brewing anger in the girl's eyes. "How mean she is!..." she murmured.
She couldn't overhear them clearly but could guess what was going on. And suddenly . ...SPLASH...something came flying towards her from that girl's shoulder that stuck to her forehead and toppled her down into the waters.
Eeeks! A froggie...and she was wet.all over. 'You'll have to pay for this girl' Kalgiakka muttered as she returned home wet and shivering in the cold of the night.
In the mansion
Lana wasn't hungry. Yet settled down for dinner unwillingly at the insistence of her housekeeper when her eyes fell on the letters she had received earlier that day and hadn't looked into.
"Please read out whom they are from."
"One is from the pipes dealer, another from the seeds merchant, and the third is from an AMK. "
Lana dropped her fork and spoon and snatched the paper. With an uncontrollable flutter she read through the beautiful writing...

Lana couldn't believe her eyes. A week with Khan Sahib! Her heart was soaring to the skies! I shall savour every moment of this assignment. She swirled and danced and was suddenly very hungry.
"Get me something more to eat. I am very hungry" she told the surprised housekeeper.
