LANA, I HAVE STARTED LOOKING FORWARD TO A DAILY DOZE OF ROMANCE FROM YOUR SIDE π
OF COURSE AKBARS NAME WOULD BE WRITTEN ON HEERAS PALM, AND IN SUCH A WAY THAT HE TAKES A WHILE TO FERRET IT OUT
YES HE IS BLESSED WITH A SUPERBLY SHARP AND OBSERVANT MIND, BUT
DULHAN KE MEHENDI BHARE HAATH BADE BADE FOCUSSED KHILAADIYON KO GUMRAAH KAR SAKTE HAIN ππ³
I CAN REALLY IMAGINE THE SCENE π
LASHY, THE WEDDING IN ON MAY 3rd.. PLEASE MAKE IT INDIAN STANDARD TIME ππ
But yaar.. this searching for husband's name in Mehendi... this shoe-stealing all these are modern customs na...
those days, the Mehendiwaalis possibly wouldn't be educated (except in numbers maybe)...only upper-class women and men were educated... how would Mehendiwaalis know to write the husband's name? π
Besides, different dialects... different letters and all na... Mehendiwaalis would most probably be Urdu-speaking since this is an art that came to India from Arabian countries through the Mugahls... till then, only Alta was used for colouring hands and feet...
That doesn't mean it's not nice to imagine...
And hopefully, this 17th century would have it's own charm ... (at least, I hopeπ)
Lavanya... I shall try and post it ready for IST π€
