My dear Shagun,

Thanks for correcting me on that nigebaani. I shall remember it. I hereby appoint you my official Urdu expert, and your duties include keeping track of my Urdu usage and queries, correct the first when needed and answer the latter. Deal?

No, my dear, he said Us se. I listened again and again from my telecast recording. Plus, it is the version that makes sense, as I have pointed out.

As for the alternate prize, I knew you would choose that!😉 I still have to check the actual number!

You know, Shagun, the difference between you and me is not only one of age, though that is considerable. It is a difference of outlook. I love your posts, which come from the heart, but they are rooted in your romantic fantasies about your Akdha. You see romance in glances of the eyes and hear heartbeats where there are, judging by the progress of the story, probably none.

If there was indeed so much of feeling in Jodha for Jalal, she would never have told him, after the attempt on his life at Amer, that her family and her sister's wedding would be endangered by the threats to his life, and, in effect, that he should go and die elsewhere. That was so horribly unfeeling that it left me speechless. I could not believe my ears, that any wife could think of and talk to her husband like that.

I do not think Jodha ever feels as much for Jalal as he feels for her. And clearly nothing now. All that she does in the forest to save his life is driven by guilt and regret, but that will fade very fast. But why should she bother, when she can get away with it?

Meanwhile, you go ahead and enjoy yourself with your Akdha, background music and all, and it does not matter that you are imagining things that do not exist. One can be in love with love, and at your age, that is the likeliest thing to happen.

Fantastic analysis Shyamala Aunty. I really loved loved loved your analysis of epsiode 81. Enjoyed much more than the episode itself. ⭐️ Thank you soo much for this...😃

Anyway, I would like to tell you something, Aunty, It was not nigarbaani, but nigebaani, that Jalal offered Jodha to do. 😊

And, in that mannat, Jalal says, " Humne aapse bohot kuchh liya hai...Not us se..." 😕
I think so...😆

As for your quiz, I really like the alternative prize. As far as I remember, she said nirdosh pashu 4 times. I really don't remember much...😆

Anyway, My comments :

Episode 79 :

It was a veryyy veryyy beautiful episode. I remember only the last scene out of the whole episode.

Loved Hamida Bano's dialogues today. Firstly, " Woh paas hai, lekin saath nahi. " And then that fate has brought them closer and god himself has called them to Ajmer Sharif. And finally, "In dono ki aaj ki ye anban kal ki taarikh banegi...woh taarikh jo Jodha aur Jalal ki dastaan baar baar dohrane me fakr mehsoos karegi... " This was one totally awesome. Loved it. 😳

How on earth does Hamida Bano assert all this? Is she a disciple of the Pir Alla Rakha, to be able to predict the future? Right now, there is nothing to justify all this gushing, bar her blanket adoration of all Rajputs. She probably never met anyone like Maharana Udai Singh's favourite wife Dheerbaiji, a Lady Macbeth clone!

Then the AkDha scene. As usual amazing. That smirk of Jalal after holding her...ufff.....Loved their dialoguebaazi here..." Agar insaan kadam sambhalkar nahi rakta hai toh aksar fisal jata hai... "..." Agar pair mein kaante chubh jayein toh dosh pairon ka nahi, unn hathon ka hota hai jinhon ne maarg mein kaante bicchaye hain..."...Hayyye my Baagh and Baaghin...They are sooo cute and adorable...

Adham and his stupid plans...😆...I can't talk about him after watching such an AkDhalicious episode...😆

Ruku's imaginations...😆...Oh god...How many people is she going to imagine now...From Maham to Jalal to Jodha...anybody left?...😆

So Ammijaan wants Jalal to take care of Jodha...So sweet na...What a MIL our Jo has got...😆
My AkDha 's eyelocks...uff again...😆...another smirk of Jalal...

Jodha was talking nonstop right. The baandi seemed more calm that time. Poor thing...got scolede also...for taking Shehenshah's side...😆
Jodha is too hasty when it comes to Jalal...Her face was worth - watching after Jalal showed her her khema. 😆

The next scene was quite fast. And, the soldiers were sleeping until Jalal called them. 🥱 Agra's security continuing here too. 😆
Anyway, I don't think Jodha should have blamed Jalal here. Bharmal also has a big responsibility in this matter. 😕

The last scene...OMG...It was sooo good. Still there, in AkDha land. The last time I went there, was during AkDha's 1st swordfight.
Loved Jalal's reply..." Thik hai...aap nigraani kijiye...hum aaraam se so jaate hain.."...He certainly knows his baaghin very well...😉 Her expressions...😆
That BGM after he keeps his sword on her neck while she's drinking water, OMG...sooo beautiful it was.....That soft BGM conitinues till she goes to bed...😳
Then, they steal secret glances at each other for a short time...😳..Unsaid words being conveyed...
And again, the BGM becomes loud, and we know the snake's coming...😆
Since we know whats gonna happen next, Jodha's long banter to Jalal seemes extraaa long...and funny too...😆 And his expressions...😆 Thinking when is she going to stop...so that he can introduce the snake...😆
Again his smirk after revealing the snake...his look at the snake...her expressions...everything was sooo cute...and funny too...😆
Everything was veryyy beautiful in this scene. The BGM perfectly matched every movement in the scene. Divya di had earlier made one of her musical posts on this scene...mentioning the various musical aspects of this scene...😃
My AkDha are sooo adorable......Absolutely loved them today...and tomorrow's will be another beautifulll episode...😳

See, this is what I meant. The content of what Jodha said, the cheapness of it all, means nothing to you and you see everything as "cute". I found it very demeaning and I was disgusted. Never mind, you go ahead and enjoy yourself!

Episode 80 :

What to say about it, an amazing amazing episode. 👏 The first scene takes the cake for me, though.

The khema scene was just soo awesome. The very first genuine smiles that both give each other...Hayyee...I loved it... The way Jalal says, " Humne mazak kiya tha, aap has sakti hain. " Her very slight smile after that...His smile...Her smiling after he turns away...The music slightly changes as Jodha smiles...It changes to my fav In Aankhon mein tum tune...I jus loved everything about this scene. There was something very beautiful and genuine in this scene. They both seemed like friends for the first time to me, rather than two people who hate each other. No taanebaazi going on, and no putting down each other. Just some light - hearted sarcasm by Jalal, and innocence, and those beautiful smiles of my AkDha...😳 This scene just highlights just why I love them soo much...Just because they're soo cute and adorable..😳 Really, can't get enough of my AkDha...
Then comes that sar ke peeche aankhein part. Hilarious...😆 The way he smiles wide at her remark, and replies back without even opening his eyes...Loved it...😃 She checks at him once before sleeping, and even he checked on her before going to that man. 😳
Overall, a very very beautiful scene that I can watch n no. of times...and will just keep drooling over them like the very first time...😆

Yeah, ofcourse I noticed Humari Jodha Begum. How couldn't one! It was so obvious and clear. Felt soo good to hear na. That Humari before her name...😳😆 I think that was to show that man that Jodha was the Shehenshah's begum, and no one dare even look at her. To show him what place she held here, and to Jalal, the emperor. 😃

When will my Jo stop being soo hasty?...😆 Pehle Jalal ki poori baat toh sun leti. Didn't even wait for him to speak. She started with her 'What kind of a human he is' rant. 😆 Wow Jalal! What awifey you have got, seriously. 😆 Thank God she atleast turned back and so him give his jewels and even reason out his act. Otherwise, next time too she would have taana marofied him. 😆 BTW, as per the VO, She was guilty, wasn't she...for not trusting him and saying bura bhala to him?...It didn't seem so, right?...She did the exact same mistake again...😆 Just this time she spoke all that mentally only...Fortunately this time Jalal was spared...😆

Yes, I was surprised that she did not argue with him right there, and went back instead.😉

And yes, Paridhi looked soo beautiful and gorgeous in this scene. 😳

thnx aunty for ur lovely in depth analysis of d episodes...d tent scene was really funny and at d same time I felt jodha's rudeness visible her...I mean when she says that koi paraya I mean however relationship she must be having with him I mean to say d hatred one but she ahs been wedded with her she is not seeing him for d 1st time so on how earth he became paraya to her...? 😕 this actually irked me to d core... 😕 and as she ahs d habit of directly jumping on d conclusion without observation she is truly a poor science student... 😆 she again started raining her bhashans on jalal but he seemed to be cool and with smirked returned her dupatta... 😉 regarding d daasi scene I think d daasi was more cool the jodha when she said not to loose her cool about jalal and her staying in d same khema...

regarding d Rajput assassin and jodha blaming jalal as d d true culprit did shocked me as it was her father who had proposed it and not jalal falling on his feet to get him married with her foremost is her brother suja to b blamed or rather d vicious circle ending on bharmal as he had made his own son d next king secondly this provoked suja to take xtreme steps to fight for d throne joining hands with shariff and d ameris loosing it...so all in all its entirely her father hwo has to b blamed but jodha being jodha she just thinks from her pov and hence blame game going on jalal... 😕

I really loved d part where he stops jodha from giving away her ornaments and his explanations to d fakir on y he had rejected her ornaments...but jodha as I said her brain just cant work or think more when it comes to jalal and directly passed her verdict saying he is heartless and doesn't care for his awaam... 😕 but I was happy at least she got her answers when he was giving d justification to d fakir... 😆

d mazar part was really soothing and divine...d place where they tie d strings so that wishes come true...jalal was soo genuine and really wanted her wishes to come true...but he wasn't aware of her wishes for his downfall...I guess she had come to wish for his well being...? but it turned out to be d other way round moreover jodha asking to teach a lesson to him... 😕 really felt bad for him... will b waiting for ur next post aunty...take care... 😳

My dear Donjas,

Your defence of Jodha is indeed spirited, and you deserve a round of applause for it! 👏It is another matter that I do not agree with most of it!

I agree with the recovering patient bit - it is a perceptive phrase - and as you would have seen, I put the same idea in, though in terms of the kinship Jalal talked about in The Matters of the Heart, in my take on Episode 80.

But as for Jodha's behaviour, you really cannot expect the viewer to make allowances based on Sant Ram's dictatorial ways. The viewer goes by what was shown. To interpret it as due to outside circumstances is the same as blaming the CVs for a dismal twist in a character. I never go down that road. Once you do that, you cannot analyse any character at all. So I stand by my take on the matter. She behaved cheaply and in a way that was not at all expected of a queen.

As of the depth of her hatred of Jalal, you have a point there, but my objections to Jodha's rant before she spots the snake are for entirely different reasons. She sounds

(a) extremely stupid, and

(b) like someone like Katharine Mayo, with only ashobaniya aacharan on her mind, and that too when there was not the least call for it.

Exactly like Gandhiji's drains inspector. No wonder Khushi interpreted it the way she did! Anyone would!

I was very disappointed in Jodha there, and very, very put off. I do not mind if men make fools of themselves, but I hate it if women do that!

Shyamala

PS: The original Moti was still around tonight, so her absence could not have been the reason for the presence of the new daasi to whom Jodha Begum confided her deep aversion for her husband!

Thanks for 'Dark Chocolate' tasting review. But like always I relished it.

It was bitter stuff but I ran through it and am ready to give a spirited defense of 'hamari Jodha' because I believe some of the bitterness towards her is unwarranted, though some is.

So here goes-
1 The daasi tent scene problem of perception was caused by scheduling , not because of Jodha's non Royal behavior. Sant Ram had raised his head along this time in the JA sets, and poor Moti was axed. A search was on for new Moti, but the serial was running and so lines that were meant for Moti, Jodha's childhood friend and confidante, were instead said to this new bandhi. If you assume that new bandhi to be Moti in disguise, as I did, then what Jodha said is hardly new or contentious.

2 I hate ISIS and Nazis. There is no charitable act that one of it's leaders does that will inculcate warm feelings in me towards it.

For Jodha, the Mughal empire was ISIS.It was hammered into her brain from childhood. Remember, how in one of the early episodes, Bharmal called Jalal a Rakshasa. One can imagine the kind of vitriolic picture he would have painted for his children.

Some of the rumors of brutality may even have been justified. At this stage Jalal was winning back the empire that his foolish father had fritted away. So, for Jodha she did not have 'Akbar the great' of din I Ilahi and Sulh e kul as husband, she had Osama Bin Laden. The hatred for Jalal was deep rooted. It would have been amplified by Jalal's cruel behavior in the Ruqs case.

Of late Jalal has been nice to Jodha, but these are small things, they won't have any affect on a hatred as intense as Jodha's. What is needed is a game changer, not one but many. First chink in the ice maiden's armour, seeing the spiritual side of Jalal at Ajmer Sharif, second chink will come in the Amer track. This is a slow process and we should not expect otherwise.

That is why I found nothing wrong with Jodha's behavior in the tent. It is exactly as I expected it. Maybe she could tone down the shrillness of it a bit but the logic of it works perfectly for me.

Jodha in this serial has never been shown as the sacrificial lamb, Amer or not, duty or not, marital obligations or not. As Jalal himself said it perfectly in the suicide attempt scene, Jodha has always said what she wanted to say and done what she wanted to do. And maybe Jalal likes it this way too, maybe he likes this feisty Jodha, the only person who can say no to him.

Jalal has to be extra careful around her, especially after the suicide attempt. He does not know how much she can take, so no angry rants like after the Holi fiasco, he treats her more like a recovering patient.

O.K, the first of my posts is already too long. Back soon, to give my feedback on the remaining stuff.

Your most welcome. 😃 Oh...so I am being offered a job here. 😆 Its my pleasure to help you in any way I can. You can count on me for the Urdu part. 😃
Oh ..is it. Then you must be right. 😃 I'll check it sometime later.
You know what Aunty, I am starting to feel that this thread is not at all meant for me. This is a place for all you elders to have serious and interesting discussions. And here I am, with my fantasy world posts.😆 I'll really try to be better next time...or will stay away from here. 😃

I fully agree with you. Jodha does not have even a fraction of what Jalal currently holds for her. Nor will she do so for some time to come. I too felt irritated at that comment of hers. It was a very poor thing to say, and especially that 'Go and die somewhere else part'...🥱

You're right. I love watching them together. That reflects in my posts, I suppose...and that too...gets too much. 😆
My replies in red. 😊 BTW, Aunty, you didn't respond to the rest of my comment?...😛

No, no, child, you should most definitely stay. You are like a breath of fresh air.

But what I would like you to do, as I told you on your Jalal's diary thread, is to think more on imaginative lines, delving into the character There are any number of young people here who can gush about Akdha with or without reason. Very few of them can write well. You can. So I would like to see you putting that talent to better use than simply saying that Akdha are gorgeous or cute.

Do you understand what I mean? Analyse and dissect a character, being as objective as you can. You can then write regularly here, and I can retire!

Lastly, I did not comment on the rest of your post because I liked it and agreed with it, and so I had nothing to add to it.

And I agree, Jodha has never ever played the victim. And that is what her husband is crazy about.
