Dev Anand singing - "Tu kaha ye bata iss nashili raat me, mane na ye mera dil diwana" - wandering the streets in moony dreamy night - just for a glimpse of Nutan. I always find this song so romantic. When they see each other, Dev Anand on the street and Nutan in her balcony - just the sheer joy that delighted eye-lock. The old movies songs had romance passion it felt like real love. It is not that we remember, rather we won't - can't forget the songs that magic ever.

What has this got to do with JA? Nothing or everything because to me, our Jodha and Jalal had that forgotten era romance of those old movies. Not because they were romancing in 1560s odd (ok please refer to Abhay for correct years!) but cos they just HAVE it. The searing chemistry the eye-locks that hummed. Just like I can never forget some magical songs of the olden days, I will never forget the early part of JA, the magical episodes that made us even impatiently hate weekends!

Yesteryear's very popular actress Ms.Kamini Kaushal while receiving Filmfare Lifetime award said recently, we used our eyes for romance - the description fits Jodha Jalal perfectly.

I always found their romance, Paridhi and Rajat's Jodha and Jalal magically old world. NOBODY but nobody on tv and very few in movies can compare to the magic, the chemistry of these two. Some new recent serials - the manhandling heroes and the lip-locks leave me cringing. I won't remember them even few weeks. Jodha Jalal Akdha Parijat romance? I can never forget.

I stopped watching after HH track and it was difficult the first 1-2 weeks, now I have completely detached. Still, I could never totally keep away from JA forum. So I can understand the low feeling devoted fans are feeling, the Akdha Parijat magic they don't want to let go of. This post is for all of you - the real loyal fans of JA 👏👏👏

Whenever I will think of Jodha and Jalal, I will think of Paridhi and Rajat. I started watching from jinda jala denge episode and the blazing hatred and fearlessness in Jodha's eyes even under veil - Paridhi was sooo beautiful royal and fiery. I adored Jodha from that first glance, Jalal's haughtiness, his smirks, his different killer adaabs (as per his mood and who he was doing it to - those adaabs had a vocabulary of its own!)

It was as if I could not get enough, I wanted Jodha Jalal to fall in love NOW but I also wanted to watch the journey from intense hatred to love in slow motion detail. Paridhi and Rajat's Jodha Jalal have given us unforgettable magic.

The palanquin scene - a mesmerized Jalal walking alongside to catch fleeting first glimpse of gorgeous Jodha through the fluttering curtains. Jalal's feet carried him to the ghats without him knowing. The rain drenched night the small fires on the ghat and Jalal holding Jodha's payal entranced in her beauty.

The majestic magnificent Shadi saptah, Jodha in Agra, the magical Aarati scene, where Paridhi looked like she has walked out of a royal oil painting.

The sword practice scene

The farman scene - where Jodha refuses to take it - what a blow to Jalal's ego when she says he has nothing that she wants

The entire Amer track - the boat ride, the uuh aah scene, the mannat completion - just every single thing about Amer track was wow

The entire vishpaan week, the prayers in Dergah, the dreamy night in Angoori baug with stolen glances and whispery touch of hands

Can any JA fan ever forget these and many many such scenes? Maybe I have listed the all time favorites but I just have to think of JA and I remember these

The khema night on the way to Amer - Jalal saying to snake shak humari begum pe aa jaata - Jalal's grin when Jodha asks if he has eyes on the back of his head. It was as if there was no world outside of that khema.

Jalal asking Jodha if she loves him - in jail! Jalal's smirk and Jodha's naughty laugher when he refuses to tell her the meaning of sign in surang cos she has not confessed

Drunken Jalal in Jodha's hojara, looking desperately in love at Jodha's ethereal beauty as she sleeps, the caressing of her feet, almost kiss

The angoori baug night they spend talking

Rahim pulling Jodha's dupatta and Jodha thinking it is Jalal, Jalal telling Rahim if not for his age - he would have been punished for touching his begum's dupatta

Jalal's gloating smirk at Hamida Banu's first glimpse of HIS Jodha, saying mashalla kitni khubsoorat hai, iske noor ke aage heere ki chamak bhi phiki pad jaye

The eye lock when Jodha comes back to Agra with fanfare - the entire walk to her hojara where Jalal does not take his eyes off her even once and Jodha can't look away from him

I stopped watching JA after the HH track, not because I stopped loving Jodha and Jalal but I intensely hated Ruk more and just had ENOUGH of the obsessive negativity.

So now when JA is actually ending, what does it leave behind? I had already left JA behind so I know what it has left behind for me - Jodha and Jalal - the golden purely magic drenched scenes, those eye locks those super romantic moments, they are as cherished as the olden goldies.

Can we ever really forget the moment Jalal laid eyes on Jodha in her Pallaquin? I can easily list 100 such moments. This is what JA will leave behind - the pure 100 carat magic that Paridhi and Rajat brought.

Who knows maybe real Jodha and Akbar looked exactly like Paridhi and Rajat. Atleast in my mind they do. The gorgeously breathtakingly beautiful regal haughty fiery fearless Jodha and the dashing rakish arrogant brave temperamental Shehenshah Jalal.

So I lovED JodhaAkbar but I love Jodha and Jalal and Paridhi and Rajat. Will always love them.

Paridhi and Rajat - thank you for the memories. Wish them the best of roles, projects and acclaim and wonderful careers ahead.

Looking back the Amer track had everything just perfect. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The sharing of khema, the moon lit boat ride where Jalal could not keep his eyes off Jodha, the sharing of hojara, the mehendi the dance the punishment the uuh aah!! The Jallad and his Chudail.

Jalal hiding his own feelings telling Ruk he is going because he loves when Ameris have to kowtow to him, but vulnerably revealing to Jodha he cares what she and Ameris think about him.

Jodha who did not want Jalal made to give up his beloved fort, arguing with her Ameris for Jalal.

The proud warrior Maharana Pratap, the enmity of the titans, the dignified Maharana Pratap walking out saying this is not shadi now it is souda.

The fuming Mahamanga, the plotting of Sharifuddin and Adham, on rampage elephant!

The absolutely stunning episodes of Jalal coming to understand his Jodha, knowing she is not at sukoon even in temple, the fulfilling Jodha's mannat. Jalal learning truth.

The Jodha who knows how to get Jalal on her side to save her sister's marriage, the every inch regal haughty Shehenshah Akbar who gave his favorite Ratanpur fort for not Ameri Shehjadi Jodha but to HIS Begum Jodha. The winning the fort back - how dare anybody make him do anything - to gifting the fort to Sukanya. It was brilliant!!

Amer track had everything romance, politics, plotting, teasing, revenge, royal intrigues, attempts on Jalal's life, the fulfilling of mannat, the forming of relationships with Ameris, the absolutely astute Jodha and magnificent foxy brainy Shehenshah Akbar. And it did not have Ruk!

WHY WHY WHY couldn't CVs replicate those Jodha and Jalal???

Of course vamps and villains are necessary to every serial, more so for historicals - who does not covet the throne?! It is just that audience wants to see the hero and heroine DEFEAT them, not get fooled by them again and again!

If only CVs had realized that they piled the negativity too much - the fake pregnancy track - Atifa track - the HH track and Jalal drawing curtain on Jodha but overlooking every vile plot of Ruk. Ruk pouring sand on her head was such disgusting scene - that was the last straw. If only zee had not lied to viewers saying this is Ruk punishment track, if only Jalal had punished Ruk saying won't talk with her - the viewers would not have left. Ruk would have been back after 2 episodes of Salim's birth. Ruk would have been tolerable, PUNISHED - having reason to plot.

Why did CVs treat JA love story thru the 12-16 odd steps of soap opera romance akin to what Divya wrote? If only they had actually written the story of Akbar-HK life, dramatizing their magnificent lives and their story instead - JA CVs would not have run out of things to say like this.

Royal gorgeous - absolutely brilliant in HH and MA end tracks Paridhi, every inch the Akbar ever magnificent Rajat. The wonderful characters that will stay with us - MA (Ashwini), Chetan (Adham), Salima Begum (Manisha), SD, Hamida, little Veer, old Moti Ankita. It wouldn't have been easy for Lavina to play probably most despised character of Ruk role.

Still thanks Paridhi, Rajat, entire cast of JA, Ekta, Balaji and CVs for the wonderful magical golden memories.

History? We have Abhay for that! 😉😆

I was so absolutely crazy for JA, the wait for 8 pm, the intense discussions on Ela's and Mansi's threads.

Hounding Abhay for information so we could know what was to come. Radhika's and Kaana's in-depth analysis, Bhavana's and Susan's HD photos threads and Anjali's funny threads.

So many wonderful writers Diksha, Jaya, Surochita, Cleo, Nisha, Donjas, Sandhya, Divya, Sun, Pals, Aady, Raks, Gem, Rashmi, Lasya, Charu, Chitra, Priya, Purani , Ann, Aanchal, AKT.JA and so many others. I hope I have not forgotten any names, if I have please excuse 😳

My wonderful romantic without a mean bone in body - Preet, Tamy, Jiya, Ayushi and Sindhu. Caustic astute one liners of Nabiii and Sonia.

You all brought out different nuances of each episode. Every off screen photo, every painted scar on Jalal and Jodha, every costume of Benzir and Atifa! Every precap every promo, every scrap of information - just could not get enough.

Where are you - Lyra, Choco, my first friend on JA forum Akku, kmmdesai-kshiti and her Jodha's diary and super hilarious Ruk's CV thread, ThorinMcBroody, Liz, Kamal and Mansi?

I have not loved any other serial as much (ok I really love Homeland - still!) JA was mesmerizing, I cannot believe now how much time I spent on JA forum obsessing about Jodha and Jalal and of course Paridhi and Rajat. The many friends I made here, the wonderful writers who I just could not read enough of.

Thank you all for making JA experience even more memorable. I hope we all meet again on some other serial forum.

Thanks to Hely and BeaBea for bringing me back to JA forum. I am going to watch JA till end now, just for old times sakes.

What an absolutely wonderful post Maddy👏👏. Sheer brilliance😊.
The golden period of JA has been so wonderfully mentioned in your post. Yes if only CVs had not killed it by bringing in extreme negativity and the horrible leap.
Anyways, will just trying to enjoy the last leg of this epic story but feeling very low at the same time that after next week, we will not be seeing our adorable Rajat & Paridhi at 8pm😭

Feels so good to read your thoughts after ages Maddy.🤗

You, who always wrote from your heart, I have enjoyed reading each and everyone of your posts. This one, is no exception.

Jodha and Akbar had me glued to the TV like no other serial ever had. The moments up until the leap were the glorious episodes of the serial.

Words fall short to describe the awesome performances of all the actors who played various roles in the serial.

Starting with our leads Paridhi and Rajat, who breathed life into the titular roles, have become synonymous with the names of Jodha and Akbar. What a fine gorgeous looking pair, with exceptional talent, they will leave behind an ineradicable impression of their personalities, in the minds of the audience, forever.

Ashwini Kalsekar who essayed the role of the intimidating Mahamanga, actors playing Bairam Khan, Atgah Khan, old Todar Mal, Birbal, the child actors playing Rahim, the young Mehtaab, young Anarkali, young Salim, young chubby Daniyaal, young Murad, Shahrifuddin, Adham Khan, Javeda, Jiji Anga, Gulbadan Begum, Resham Khan, Moti Bai, Hoshiyaar Khan, all of them contributed to the glorious run of the serial during the first two hundred episodes.

Manisha Yadav, Chaya Ali Khan and Lavina Tandon playing the roles of Salima Begum, Hamida Begum and my pet peeve Rukaiyya Sultan have put forth excellent performances too.

Each one of these actors including the newer lot that joined us later on, performed to the best of their abilities.

As they say, all good things have to come to an end, so is Jodha Akbar.

I can confidently say that it is the only historical that has amassed immense popularity worldwide, by being dubbed in several languages with an immeasurable fan following for the leads.

As upset as I am with her, for messing up the story-line and mutilating several aspects connected to history, I will wholeheartedly thank EK for casting Paridhi Sharma, Rajat Tokas and Ashwini Kalsekar in prominent roles. Each one of these actors, outdid the other with their superlative performances.

Superb post Maddy, you have painted a very beautiful picture of JA before the leap and those days.

Your post has made me nostalgic. You have always been the special one in this forum. Your Sunday posts and the many threads you started for scenes that impressed you had a big following.

For me it is especially poignant because I have not forgotten something you wrote just after the twins death. You had said that you wanted to experience all the ups and downs of the JA journey, you wanted to savor everything in detail.

How badly Ekta and team betrayed you and us, with their idiotic leap. But the memories of the pre leap days linger and they are good memories.

Maddy awww, thanks so much for this detailed, delightful and brilliant post

I love Jodha Akbar too, I have been so attached to this Serial from day one, I sleep only after going around various forums, after watching JA, read most all of the interesting post that are objective and focused only on JA happenings.

As the days for its end draws nearer I am now beginning to feel the Pain of coming home and no JA. I really don't know how it is going to be I haven't found anything that would meet my kind of standard yet though many Serial are online and on Zee TV US. I guess time would tell.

You have said it all and I have nothing to add just to say thank you very much appreciated.
