CHAPTER 2
As the sun rised Jalal got ready to leave Amer along with Nandhini. His mind was filled with only 1 name "JODHA". He was eagerly waiting to meet the princess. Soon after giving the responsibility to Atgha shaab and Abdul, Jalal left for Amer with Nandhini. They had disguised themselves. While their journey, Jalal asked curiously,
JALAL:- Nandhini, Tell me something more about rajkumari Jodha. How do u know her so well??? Where did you meet her???
Nandhini could clearly understand the eagerness in his voice she had a small smile on her face which was not noticed by Jalal. Nandhini reply calmly.
NANDHINI:- Bhijaan, while I was returning to Agra from Ajmer Sharif I was attacked by some decoits. I killed everyone but was severely injured. Then I lost my conscious. then I don't remember anything. Then in morning when I opened my eyes a beautiful girl was applying medicine on my wonds. I asked her where I m and how did she find me ? She told that I was lying under a tree and not to worry I was safe with her and she was non other than rajkumari Jodha herself. She had brought me to her hideout where she treated me. I told her that I belong to Mughals but she told me that her father and you were enemies not we that is their problem not ours and then it was her duty to help me in that critical time. I stayed there for 3 days and we both became very good friends. We also share letters with each other.
All the while Jalal was just listening to Nandhini ,while he had a pleasant smile on his face. he thought" How kind and nice she is, even though she knew that Nandhini belonged to us she helped her, cared for her." Now he was little confident that she can help him with his problem. After a long tired journey they reached Amer.
Amer was a beautiful city with full of life, joy , happiness and lively people. it was situated in the middle of the desert. They got down from their horses and walked into the market. There were different types of stalls like for ornaments, eatables, cloths, toys etc. Suddenly they heard an announcement and they saw some crowd accumulating near a ground. They went there and saw the royal family of Amer sitting on the stage. Nandhini pulled him and told
NANDHINI:- Bhaijaan, That is the royal family of Amer, The man sitting in the middle is Raja Bharmal, to the left of the king is Rani Manavati, Rajkumari Sukanya and Rajkumari Shivani. To the right is Rajkumar Bhagwan Das and his ministers (Suddenly something clicked Nandhini and in worried tone) Where is Jodha??
Jalal was little angery and also disappointed because he wanted to see her but then his expression changed into worry and thought "Is she fine??". His thoughts broke when he heard the announcement.
ANNOUNCE ( In loud and clear tone):- LISTEN... LISTEN...LISTEN !!!! Today is a special day as it is our dear kings birthday. So on this occation Raja Shahab has kept a challenge for all his people (In that time a big box like thing comes in covered with a big red cloth. Suddenly they remove the cover and everyone is shocked to see the element inside. IT WAS A TIGER)Anyone from the crowd who will defeat this tiger will be awarded hugely.
All the people in the crowd were hell scared. They were not even looking towards the tiger. There was a slight disappointment in the king's face. Jalal look for sometime towards the people no one came in front. So he was ready to go in. As he was about to lift his hands someone hoped in the ground and raised his hands. He had covered his face with his white turban and had worn a plain white dress( The one they wear during their war practice) Everyone were shocked to see the man because he was thin and looking very week. He was not huge and powerful. Raja Shahab also surprised but he allowed him to fight. Soon both took their positions. A cloth was kept before the king and as he took the cloth in his hand the cage was open. There was a tensed atmosphere in surrounding and as the cloth was put down the game began.
Both the man and the tiger were looking into each others eyes and were taking a slow rounds in the ground. Then suddenly the tiger came running and both started fighting. Sometimes the tiger was on top or the man, then the man with all his force pushed the tiger and it fell little far. Everyone were impressed with the man's energy. Then the tiger came running and was about to attach the man but the man took out his kanjar(sorry guys I don't know its English name) and attacked the tiger in mid air. The tiger fell on ground, then he pulled the tiger till the stage where the royal family was seated. Everyone was shocked to see a man with below average weight killed a tiger and pulled it till the stage. Everyone clapped for him. Raja Shahab was extremely impressed with this man. Jalal felt like saluting this man for his brevary. Then the announcer said
ANNOUNCER:- Congrajulations young man for your brevary and strength. Now our dear king will award him with 5000 gold coins. We request you to come on stage and get the money.
The man went to the stage and the king stood with a bag of money as promised. He was about to give him the money but he asked him in requesting tone
RAJA BHARMAL:- If you don't mind can we all see the face of this brave man.
He nodded his head in " yes" and bent down his head to take out the turban. Jalal was eager to see the man. As he removed the turban everyone was SHOCKED BEYOND REPAIR to see that the person who fought with the tiger was not a man but a WOMAN coz as she removed the turban her long silky hair came down and as she came up and put her hair behind Nandhini exclaimed in shock " JODHA". The whole crowd was shocked. They started murmuring. On the other hand Jalal was gazing at her beautiful features, her doe like eye, her cute little nose, her red blushed check, her kissable lips. If the place was not crowed he would have made love to her then and that time but suddenly he came to reality that she was the person who was fighting with the tiger. He was shocked. Now he knew what was Nandhini talking about her. He was now fully sure that she can slove his problem. Suddenly he heard a sweet voice talking it was jodha.
JODHA:- Why is everyone shocked??coz you all never expexted a girl to fight with a tiger. I was not interested in fighting with the tiger but when I was cuming here I saw a moneylender was beating up the boy and was threatening him to give him 5000 gold coin otherwise he will kill his family so for his sake I fought with the tiger(then she called the boy and gave him the money and told him) Give this money to that moneylender and tell him that now if he comes for asking money then he has to count his days.
The boy was so happy, he folded his hand to express his gratitude to her. She kept her hands on his head and patted it softly and told him to go.
Raja Shahab and the family and the people were proud of her. All the while Jalal was gazing at her like a ULLU. Then she left the stage and was about to go but suddenly she felt a hands on her sholder. She turned to see and was shocked to see the person.
JODHA:- NANDHINI!!!!!! How r u ??? After a very long time.
NANDHINI:- I m absolutely fine. Now you look even more pretty and beautiful.
They both laughed and were engrossed in the talks then suddenly Jodha's eyes fell on a man who was staring at her continuously. She was immediately attracted to the man. He was huge and muscular, had green eyes, mustache which matched with his look, a sexy smile which could take anyone's breath away. Nandhini saw this and was happy. Suddenly she remembered her actual visit to Amer. Nandhini spoke
NANDHINI:- Jodha I want to talk somethings with you.
Both of them came to the reality and she saw Nandhini face was filled with tension and pain. By seeing this Jodha got tensed up. She enquired.
JODHA:- What happened Nandhini??? You look tensed. Is every thing alright???
NANDHINI:-Yes Jodha we have a problem???
As she was about to continue Jodha interrupted.
JODHA:-Firsty you both come with me to my hide out it is not safe for you both to stand here and talk.
she took them to her hide out and told them to have their seat (that is on the rocks)then she continued.
JODHA:- What was so important that THE SHAHENSHAH OF HINDHUSTAN wants a Rajput princess to help him??
Jalal and Nandhini both were shock and Nandhini asked
NANDHINI:- How did you...
JODHA(smilingly replied ):- Your sword. Rajputs use the swords which are straight and Mughals use those swords which are curved. Secondly a common man can never have sword cover studded with preacious diamonds so I guess you are the shahenshah of Hindustan
Jalal got another shock. He was dumstruck by her beauty and now her smartness also. He was very impressed. Meanwhile Nandhini interrupted and said
NANDHINI:- Jodha there is no doubt that only you can give us the solution to this problem.
Nandhini narrated the whole incident and Jodha was listening to it very carefully but Jalal was just staring at her figure. He thought "I wish that you could be my forever". Suddenly he felt soft hands on his hands suddenly he came to reality. Jodha in worried tone.
JODHA:- Are you fine shahenshah????
JALAL:- Yes I m fine why are you asking this???
JODHA:- Coz you were in some dreamy world so...
Jalal felt shy for his action. Nandhini was shocked to see Jalal feeling shy. She had a smirk on her face and thought "Bhaijaan this is just the start. Now only god knows what will happen!!!". Suddenly Jodha spoke
JODHA:- Shahenshah you have to answer to my following question.
JALAL:- Ok
JODHA:- Have you anytime seen that lady in your life ????
JALAL:- No not at all.
JODHA:- Or that man.
JALAL:- No
JODHA:- Then there is only one thing I can do???
JALAL:- What????
JODHA:- I have to come to Agra to solve the problem.
On hearing this Jalal wanted to jump out of happiness. He felt on top of the world.
JODHA:- But there are some conditions
JALAL:- OK say.
JODHA:- CONDISTION 1:- I WANT TO MEET UR ALL CLOSED ONCE AND FAMILY MEMBERS
CONDITION 2:- I SHOULD HAVE THE WHOLE FREEDOM TO GO ANYWHERE IN UR PALACE.NO ONE SHOULD QUESTION ME OR INTERFER IN MY WORK EXCEPT YOU.
JALAL:- Ok done.
JODHA:-Ok then, tomorrow we will leave early in the morning for Agra.
JALAL:- OK
