One of my uncles had the same problem - they cudnt conceive and after trying for long they finally adopted a baby girl -- I had been to an adoption center then -- since my uncle was already 49 years then they needed a guardian in case anything happens to him and my mom signed up as her guardian... oh -- the sight there... there were about 20 - 25 girls of different ages - just girls... the manager there told us that nobody is willing to adopt these girls and there Is a long waiting list for adoption of boys... they rarely have male infants dropped into their orphanges and whenever they do, they are adopted within the next couple of days... the elder girls take care of the younger ones and at the same time manage primary education... 2 of the ladies working there had lived their lives in the orphanage and now are helping there managing it... he was all praises for my uncle since he adopted a girl child and my uncle was so moved that he 4 years later he again adopted a girl...

the scene there is so itched deep in my heart that I had decided then that I will definitely adopt a girl -- when I am capable enough and by Gods grace I found a partner who has similar feelings. Plus I have motivated 2 of my friends to do so too... we did have arguments within our group about how can you even think so and stuff like that - but then how does it matter whether you raise ur own blood vs u adopt - I am not going to treat them any different... a child who is already born - who would be living a lonely life without a family - not sure about what education he would get -- you want a baby you get that - the child needs a family - he gets that... why would that be so unthinkable?

the reason that I am posting this here -- is I do want to encourage adopting girl child -- if even 60% of wiling couples in India adopt a girl child - there would be no need for orphanages.

We do strike a chord don't you think??? 😳 Inside the story I had woven a message. I am so glad that it reached to all readers and THAT is the best prize one could get, I think.

The thing you said about the adoption, it is very sad but true...people are ready to wait even for a year to adopt a baby boy rather than a girl. But a welcome change is happening on that front though it is slow but it is there...😊

I hope there will be more and more people who think like you...
and do convey my regards to your uncle, aunt and their two princesses, may god bless them with all the happiness in life...
