What went wrong with leap?

Even now its somewhat odd to see a 47 year old Akbar and Jodha(Salim was born when he was 27 so for a 19 year old Salim he is 47 and Jodha was almost same age as him at marriage) acting like teenage star crossed lover while we know any husband-wife with grown up kids shall not be acting so lovey dovey in 21st century forget 16th century.

Second biggest issue was it was too fast

OK Jalal lost HH and went to war and Chittor massacre but his realization of fault was too fast (rather not there at all, I never sensed jalal was feeling guilty for killing 30000)

Even more worst was Jalal's prayaschit - I never felt jalal had any remorse or did any repentance or penance for his past crimes

And suddenly with in 30 minutes you had Jodha pregnant with a salim. All have read history books and seen MEA and know Akbar walked all way to Ajmer Sharif to pray for a child and again went back to thank after Salim was born. Why miss such an important event?

In whose other history an emperor and richest man on earth would have walked 300+ Kms to get a child. I know of none. So why not show that most important scene? Pls show it as past memory at least (may be Hamida tells Salim his birth story and show that scene). I was actually waiting for this scene in serial.

Next again the CVs disappointed us, when baby arrived. I mean imagine you get a baby after 10 years of wait after losing 4-5 babies and heartaches and how excited you will be as a father. The joy was missing the excitement was palable and not shown.

Where was the Jalal who acted so excited pacing up and down the garden ready to run in if not stopped by jodha to see Mehtab arrive on earth. Where was that joy and excitement and happiness at birth of baby Salim totally missing? Was this the baby Jalal waited for all life.

Jalal hardly spent anytime with baby Salim like he did with HH. No speaking, playing, putting to sleep, taking baby to garden showing him stars and plants etc making him speak just where was all that missing. I truly missed these scenes.

CVs why not show all this as flashback may be Hamida telling Salim of his birth and his parents happiness. Then Salim realizing how much mom-dad loved him and going and hugging them. If you show these scene its guarantee TRP will reach Top 3.

Then we come to kid Salim, the first flaw in kid salim was he was scared of daddy dearest. Akbar and kid salim hardly had any communication. The kid Salim would stand and shiver in front of Akbar like a kid shivers in front of a head master after stealing or copying in exams. So would Murad and daniyal. But why? So much fear. Is this the Salim who challenged his father as adult, who defied his authority again and again with a I care damn attitude. Imagine his guts to send coins minted in his name to Akbar when Akbar was the true emperor. Imagine the guts to kill his father'sbest friend and throw his head off. Imagine the guts to appoint his own mansabdars as if he is emperor. Will this scary, skimpy kid challenge Akbar in another deacde or two no ways. So Salim character was flawed as a kid only.

This characterization further got complicated when his hatred for mom-dad started after hut punishment track. Can you imagine an 8 year old showing so much attitude what shall a parent do even in 21st century- two whacks and three slaps will set any 8 year old in fear to repeat his misbehavior. Or may be a chat with him and mom or him and dad on what has happened and why it happened etc shall make him understand. But no the only one communicating with kid Salim was the evil step mother Ruqaiah(this one reminds me of MP serial batiyani and pratap relation similar) who filled his ears with hatred for mom-pops actions. That is when the audience already hating a leap and not able to connect with the young salim started hating him. That is when the TRp would take a tumble.

Adult Salim- By the time adult salim came viewers had taken their stand, their dislike and hatred for Salim as a character was immense. Only a miracle could make this salim acceptable. But alas his negativity continued and his behavior was not pleasant to say the least. He was nice to all the sweet soft walihaad even to his enemy soldiers except to parents and anarkali. That made audience hate him much more.

Further the tracks of adult salim were not at all good - farhan's love affair where crown prince salim shall go to kidnap his lover really the real Salim would have issued an order to give Bela in marriage to Farhan that is it and no king would dare say no to Prince Salim. Even worst a kabila chief threatening Akbar to kill his son etc what the nonsense. Add to that the next track of plague in agra so badly executed- with Akbar made to carry gunny bags and hit etc audience had enough of nonsense and stupid OTT tracks and Shah I iran track only complicated matters. Now Murad also is turning villan my God poor guy. And daniyal is already acting villan for anarkali-salim by favouring man bai slowly he shall also do something to be shown as villan. I had assumed Murad and Daniyal shall help brother Salim in love affair why suddenly they started hating anarkali. Did the CVs forget it was murad-daniyal who started their brothers love affair by sending a love letter in his name.

Why then show them hate anarkali, humiliate her or turn against salim? parallel heros to villans all. CVs could have atleast spared brother relationship from this mess.

Only a miracle and a better story line can save this show

The CVs could start with sending the evil Ruqaiah on long vacation to Kabul etc for 3-4 months

and make Salim and Akbar jodha interact and spend time with each other like a real family.

May be then the audience may come back

The most grave error CVs did was to make Salim a villan from childhood in eyes of audience why cannot he be shown a normal good guy who revolts when his lady love is snatched from him? Why make him villan from a kid only? While in reality it was Akbar who is villan of Salim-anarkali or Salim- meherunissa story. Here the prince who fell in love is a villan already. Audience hate him so how they shall accept his love affair with a maid and him going against his father the emperor. His defiance will be viewed as not fight for his love or to save his lover life but as another of his stupid anger against father Akbar. It is no longer be viewed as fight for equality in love fight against society norms etc

I think this show needs a better CV who understands 16th century and a sensitive writer who can potray the family feud better not making one villan and another hero.

i actually not have problem with the leap but the storyline must good because in this show JA are the center role, they cant be sideline when salim anar show up, at least equally screen space now here what i thought missing from this show ( this is just my pov ).

1. When jodha pregnant by hassan hussein i wish they show the progress of jodha pregnancy but after maham anga death suddenly jodha almost due, what i want to see jalal care for jodha at pregnancy because i remember when ruq fake pregnancy jalal told jodha when its the time jodha pregnant he want to take care of jodha and when jodha pregnant i want to see jalal taking care his belove begum.

2. the birth of hassan hussein, again its out my expectation , my expectation was that jalal want to insist to stay with jodha, remember when baksi bano giving birth jalal and jodha had little argument that jalal want to be with jodha when she is giving birth but jodha didnt want jalal to be with her since she know jalal couldnt see jodha in pain, it would be interesting when jodha giving birth jalal who cant see her in pain barking to everyone to lesser her pain and in the end jodha and jalal fighting while she in labour hahaha that would very amazing scene

3. jodha pregnant with salim too soon , wish to see jodha and jalal together go to some place to serve people to randeem jalal sins

4. again when jodha pregnant to salim they decide to take little leap and suddenly jodha almost due to labour, when jodha pregnant with hassan hussein jalal didnt have too much time to taking care of jodha so i wish with second pregnancy jalal being with her, taking care of her but this didnt happen either

5. again jalal not with jodha when his kids born, i wish cv give jalal to watch his own son born into this world, at least with salim , its the kid that jalal and jodha wish for, they must goin through hard time and lot of pain till finally Allah give salim to them

6. cv seem very like to see jalal and jodha suffer, they take away salim by use evil ruq, dont they have a heart ? how come they make salim hate his own father, this a kid whose born to this world as proof his parent love so how come they make salim hate his own parents.

7. from my pov with the leap it like cv try to recreate another jodha akbar , they recreate jalal hamida maham relationship with salim jodha/jalal ruq relationship , jalal jodha ruq relationship with salim manbai anarkali relationship but that doesnt work , they cant create sizzling chemistry between ravi heena , their chemistry cant reach pari rajat level , and the worst part they show scene sanar right after akdha scene so the chemistry differences too abvious, pari rajat chemistry too powerfull to overcome by ravi heena.

i hope cv built strong storyline now to save this show , too bad with amazing talent it the house like pari rajat they cant make a good storyline. 😭😭

actor playing salim is also poor selection as he never look or failed to impress audience as crown prince was also the major reason why audience not connect with him if some better actor was chosen may not be suufer that much loss or demage , i have no personal hatred for that actor but his screen presence is so poor i can not connect with the character never looked like JA s son till today i try to watch his scene but hardly bear him on screen for his poor performance hence i have to change the chanel within few seconds as i found him quite boring after few minutes, they should replace sasome googood looking handsome n strong teenage boy for the role
