Short and sweet update today - like it 😆

Episode was HAPPENING and HOW!! I so wish you had the time to make one of your long, detailed posts on it - it was that kinda epi. Still, no complaints 😛

1. Ruq is being punished by CVs by being made to work like a bandi. This is their idea of punishing her for her crimes? Weird!

It seems as I have been telling you - that they are just refurbishing her image and bringing her down to tolerable limits of vampness. Today's epi proved this.

She was shouted at by Jo and kept quiet. Didn't throw much of a tantrum even in her tent. Listened to Jo explaining why she shouted at Ruq and actually understood and apologized to Jo for MUing her. And agreed with Akbar that she had been wrong about Jo. Phew!!

2. There is no difference between badshahi and padshahi. The former is Arabic and the latter Persian.

I also don't like Ruq but I think too much is being read into her scene today. It was typical Ruq talk - she always keeps calling herself padshahi begum, which irritates me too. But it is typically Ruq now. And she has always been maintaining right from the start of the show that she is superior to Jalal and even in the beginning, when Smiley was playing Ruq, she would say that Jalal will have to wait for her while she finished her harem duties.

I don't really get it - how was it ok for Ruq then but not now to talk like that?

Like someone here said, Ruq is almost always shown behaving like a tantrum throwing toddler. And AkDha are mature enough to know that she needs "handling" and they do that in a calm manner. It's ok if Jo says sorry to her in such a situation to "manaofy" her. As parents, don't we apologize to our sullen kids? It doesn't make us small.!

The three are a family and they can easily apologize to each other.

Such scenes have played before many times and I simply ignore them. I am interested to know if Ruq will be punished for the crimes she committed. That is not happening. :(

3. Liked Salim's scenes today.

The scene with Aram Bano was cute. :)

The way he mobilized soldiers and strategized war tactics was shown well. Now that MS has been proved not guilty, and Salim has sought Bhagwan Das' support, so the war is going as per history - MS and BD fighting MH for Mughals.

Akbar plans to join the war at Thaneswar - so all those who were disappointed that Akbar was away from Agra and may miss the war will be happy. :) Though the track record shows that wars are over even before they begin - so we may not see any actual fighting.

Also liked Salim's exhortation to the women doing arti of the soldiers not to lower the morale of the soldiers by talking of defeat and death by consuming poison.

4. Finally there's one track in which AkDha are solving some problem together like equals, instead of one doing everything and the other looking totally clueless.

Only wish they would use more common sense. How simple is it that they question JD and expect him to confess to everything?

In the prasad scene, Akbar was not only being jealous because JD was trying to get close to Jo. He was also being suspicious and keeping an eye on JD to see his reactions.

Seems from the precap that the angel / God will lead Akbar to the godown where the royal rations are being hoarded.

Wish Akbar had been able to crack the case with Jo. But this is also fine. God helping Akbar - this will confirm Akbar's faith in God - that God is always with us in good times and bad.

5. It seems that God has become benevolent towards Akbar - He is appearing in front of Akbar almost in every episode. The precap scene is sweet though and fruitful too for Akbar.

If Akbar discovers JD's hand in the grains scam, then on Friday, Jo may be kidnapped. And we will stay in suspense over the weekend, wondering how Akbar will release her.

6. MS' spy finally reaches Akbar and informs him of everything except the crucial bit - Shah Mansoor's name.Though I think he said Shah. Will Akbar be able to guess from this that it is Shah Mansoor who is helping MH from inside the palace?

It was filmy though the way the stabbed spy managed to reach Akbar and blurt out everything before dying.

7. Liked Akbar Birbal scene. And how Birbal managed to impress Akbar with the waliahad's exploits.

JD's men are keeping an eye on Akbar, it seems.

8. Comic scenes were again childish.

Overall, a great deal happened in today's episode. 😊 It was fantastic! 👏

1.
I did not give much importance to the first scene of Akbar and Ruqs where she said "some words", though i know many seem to be not liking that part. :-P

It was ok, i took it as a light scene.
She was simply telling some thing to her husband ( complaining? :-P ).

I know many are not liking this but its kinda ok.
Ab har ek scene ka point to point analysis to nahi kar sakte na. :-P

Lets leave it, i normally ignore such minute comparisons unless it becomes necessary sometimes. :-P

About Padshah Begum / Badshah Begum...
CV's have made this a mockery.

Radhika has already mentioned about it above...
Padshah Begum is a post/title/designation for some one who managed the harem.

We know Padshah BegumS in reigns of Babur, Humayun, ..., and Salim -> as, Maham Begum, Khanzada Begum and in Salim's reign we know of Saliha Begum & Nur...

But in reign of Akbar, i have not got this designation / title accorded to anyone.
Akbar's harem was headed prominently by his mother Hamida who was the Queen Mother and by Salima Begum, the Hindu harem was under MUZ.

I simply do not get the logic of CV's saying Ruqs handled Akbar's harem since her marriage.
How is that possible at such a YOUNG age?
She was married at 9. And if Ruqs handled the harem, then what was the HOLD of Queen Mother - Hamida ?

Badshahi Begum simply means a Shahi(Royal) Begum or in English it means wife of Emperor/Shahenshah.

BTW, Akbar Khan had shown MUZ as Badshah Begum in his old serial Akbar The Great.
See it in the episode before the Birth of Salim.

I dont hear this new "comical" character when her scenes come, but yes today she appeared twice on the screen. It was more than expected.

Haider is a FICTIONal character.

I have read of 2 sons of Maham Anga --> Adham Khan and another son was Baqqi Khan Koka. But instead of showing Baqqi Khan, they have showed us the son of Adham Khan about whom i have no idea.

Baqqi Khan died in 1584 (i think year is correct.)
He was elder brother of Adham Khan.
The wives of Adham and Baqqi Khan were REAL sisters.

BTW, Thanesar also called Thaneshwar was the place near which Shah Mansoor was hanged by Akbar, i do not know what is going to happen. Just telling it, as it came in my mind. This place is famous for many other battles also in history, it is also related to IInd Battle of Tarain b/w Ghori and PRC.

Also, name of a place was announced in the show by the narrator today, if anyone of you heard it clearly - "Karra Maanikpur" . This is a place about 30 kms from present day Allahabad. It was here that one of the fights in the revolt of 1565 took place. CV's did not show that revolt. They took leap this time.

It was a FINE episode. :)

i m sorry abhay as i behaved childish n stupid in ur thread...so again i said same thing aage se nahi hoga lol...abhay n radhika as both of clear doubts about padshah ya badshah begum i just want to add in the shw when ruq came to DEA to proove salim innocent b4 leap in qadir issue n akbar ordered to arrest her then hamida said to him hw can he arrest her woh akbar ki first wife hone ke naate uski padshah begum he n that time also twitter pe writer shab ki watt lagi toh they changed it padshah to badshahi begum toh according our great cvs she is first wife of akbar isiliye woh badshahi begum he...

First Wife has nothing to do with Padshah Begum(PB). Infact, Padshah Begum can be anyone, a sister, daughter, mother or a wife of Emperor. So, it is not related to a Wife, or a First Wife only. :)
