Diya aur Baati has been the numero uno show on TV for quite a long time and the continued efforts of the team, their hard-work and dedication ensures that they remain at the Top. However there was one show that gave cut-throat competition to Star Plus and GEC's most popular and number one show and no points for guessing this one. Yes, it was Zee TV's Jodha Akbar produced by Balaji Telefilms.Within just a couple of months since this period drama went on air, the TRP rankings saw drastic changes and Jodha Akbar geared up to secure the top position in the TRP race and guess what they achieved it in no time. The popular Zee TV show went on to become the number one in Feb 2014 and thwarted DABH's attempts to reclaim their position by topping the charts again quite a few times.Sadly this is not the situation today, the once popular show is no longer even in the top 10 list. The recent change in storyline and the introduction of a brand new track has completely changed the face of Jodha Akbar, shaken the foundation of what the show was and this has not gone down well the viewers. As a result the show which was earlier in the top two today is no where in sight.The series that premiered on 18 June 2013 stars Rajat Tokas as Emperor Jalal and Paridhi Sharama as Jodha. Jodha Akbar is an epic drama about a sixteenth century story of the political marriage of convenience between a Mughal Jalal and a Rajput princess Jodha.The show that started off on a great note and went on to churn out some amazing tracks which went on to do exceedingly well. JA was packed with outstandingly beautiful tracks and it always left the viewers wanting more. The battle of power in the convenience marriage, the beauty of sacrifice in the Vishkanya Benazir' Track, the heart-break of losing Hassan-Hussain, the magic of attraction, love and passion whenever Jodha and Jalal came together etc are just a few instances/things that define the magnanimity called Jodha Akbar. The aspects that made Jodha Akbar a show that was one of a kind.It is indeed sad to see such a powerful show and one with a stellar cast (Pre-Leap) wither away. We truly wish Ekta Kapoor would use her magic wand and the quality one associates with a show as spectacular as this one would be restored and Jodha Akbar will once again see the light of the day
