Chapter- 12

He shuts his eyes with content for accomplishing task i.e.; finding her, he did it now all he has to do is win her back, yes it will be harder task than he has done recently but he will do it. He will try harder and harder until she accepts him. But first he has to help her overcome whatever she has faced, yes, indeed she has faced everything alone but they will overcome this together. Together, because it will just make tasks simpler. And it will surely ease the pain. He finally dozes off thinking about their future together. It's past midnight and it's almost near dawn she gets up all sweaty and cold. Nightmares, yes nightmares of the prison she lived in came back to her. Alive. Than they had ever had been and all running to eat her she believed or worse to kill her. Tears streamed down her cheeks, will they ever leave me? She questioned herself, no.. They will stay until you do the answer comes from within. But I need to lighten my heart I need to share, but with whom? Her eyes fall on Jalal whose sleeping peacefully like he cares about no tomorrow. She envies the way he sleeps. Does have no worries? He, has she knew many than she could ever imagine. He sleeping peacefully because he has found you, her heart answered. Me? Seriously me, are you joking he just wants to remove his guilt that's why he came to find? Ask yourself Jodha he could only let his soldiers find you if he was only guilty, he loves and you love him what's the issue. Stop creating a wall between you for god sake. Her heart she hated it because all it could talk is about love, she needs to get out in fresh air. She gently climbs out of the bed and then moves out of the tent the cold air rushed against her skin making her skin burn, but she didn't care about it all she wanted to do is go to some place for some peace. The soldiers get alarmed seeing the queen heading somewhere in the night that too alone. One soldier who had been given the duty to keep an eye on Jodha when Jalal is away steps forward and asks her- Gustaki muaaf Begum sahiba lekin ap is vakat kahan ja rahi hai? Jodha's gets irritated and answers back - hum jheel(lake i'm not sure what's it's called) ke pas jarahe hain. The solider says- lekin... Jodha cuts him and says- Hum ja rahe aur apke Shehanshah ko batne ki jarort nahi hai aur nahi humare piche ane ki koi jarort nahi hai. Hum bache nahi hai apne khayal rakhana ata hai. Samajhe ap. And she leaves saying to herself I want privacy. She reaches near the lake and sits besides its shore. She lets her emotion flow down in the form of tears. The memories correction horrifying memories didn't seem to leave her alone not for a moment, every moment she thinks that they are nearer than the day before to get her and again they will throw her in the dungeon for the rest of her life and there she will sit by anticipating someone will rescue her .But no one will come and find her, she has to run on her own again. On, the other hand Jalal gets up and is shocked correction scared not to fight Jodha next to him. He gets up with a jolt and takes a shawl and covers himself with it as its cold outside and hurriedly steps out and scans everything he could see. He is usually a light sleeper but he curses himself for sleeping deeply today .She couldn't have been on the run when there is such a tight security around them. He asks the soldier who he had appointed to look after Jodha when he is not around he asks in haste- Jodha kahan hai? The soldier replies his answer by adding every word Jodha had said. Jalal says - ya Allah! Why is she so stubborn? He takes a torch and moves towards the lake he orders his soldiers that if he is too late to come and check on them. While moving towards the lake he could see that the color of the sky is changing it's almost dawn. After five minutes' walk he reaches the lake and sees her sitting next to the lake he is relieved the next moment when he sees her without shawl he gets a bit angry on her for being so careless. But he manages to control his anger. He goes near her gently taps her shoulder. A sudden tap on the shoulder scared she gasped in fear, he could hear her gasp in fear. A million of questions passed through her mind in minutes are they here? Have they found me? Jalal decides to relieve her from her fear he says- Jodha... the moment she recognizes the owner of the voice she is relieved. She turns back she says- Jalad tum? Jalal says- han hum.

He says- chalo vapas chalte hain tumhe sona nahi hai kya? Hum bahut neend arahi. Jodha replies- tum jao hum ajayenge. Jalal says sitting beside her - hum bhi yahen par rahenge. Jodha says- tum itni jiddi kyon ho. Jalal replies- tumse to kam hai. She gives him an angry glare knowing there's no use talking to him. He hesitatingly accepts her silence treatment. He thinks maybe just staying with her will give her some comfort. And yes, it did she is grateful that he kept his mouth shut. He could see her rub her bare arms again and again for warmth. She's cold. He takes his shawl and wraps it around her. She looks up and says- HUmne nahi chaiye. She knew very well she needs warmth but she's not ready to take anything from him. She takes the shawl out and gives it back to him; He looks at her with disbelief how someone could be so stubborn. He says- Tum bimar pad jaogi le lo. She says- hum bimar pade tumhara kya? Aur tum hume yeh shawl kis hak se de rahe? Oh! Rights she always asks him what right he does have on her she irritates him. OK he agrees he has lost his right but he is still her husband. He replies- Dekho jungilli billi tumhne bola tha aj ki hum agra ke pagal khane ke malik hai toh us hak se hume humare pagal khanne ke har ek pagal ka khayal rakhna padega. Aur tum bhi humare pagal khanne mai rehti ho toh tumhara khayal rakhna munasib hai na? She smiles at Jalal, she turns her head so that he can't catch her smile, but he did catch her smile. Her beautiful smile he saw it after month, he mentally patted himself well done Jalal. Jodha says- hum tumhare pagal khanne mai rehte the ab nahi rehte. Aur yeh shawal hume udhane ki koshish mat karna is se badbo arahi kya tumhne aj snanan( bath not sure about the spelling soli) nahi kiya kya Jallad? This woman is impossible he knew so hard to handle. He says- badbo mere se toh a nahi rahi hai. Lagta tum hume yeh batene ki koshish kar rahi ki tumhne nahi nahaya( bath), She gives him an angry glare and turns her head. She's angry he knew it but he loved her cute angry face he says- Jodha... She doesn't look at him, he tries it her way he says- Jungli billi she looks at him angrily. He smile and replies- Phir tum bolti ho ki hum tumhe jungili billi na bole. She gets up irritated and decides to leave. He knew it if he irritates her she will go back to tent, his plan is a success. He gets up smiling widely as he could she gets irritated seeing him smiles. He wraps the shawl around him knowing she will not take and gets up. He hears a sound in the nearby bush he freezes. His senses alarmed him saying its danger. HE checks for his dagger it's not there. He curses himself for leaving his dagger under the pillow. Jodha says- Jallad chalo. He gets up and pulls her towards him and rubs the torch with the sand to blow it off and throws it. She hits him with a bang and then he wraps the edge shawl around her and squeezes her. She is just about to protest when she hears the sound in the nearby bush. She gets scared and puts her arms around him. His hand touched her bare waist and her lips touched the upper part of his chest cause' he hadn't tied his jama properly before leaving, Electric shocks travelled through both of them. They had never been so close since they had developed feelings for each other. For both this moment is equivalent to a moment in heaven. Jodha knew she should break the hug and the touch but she couldn't his grip is so strong like iron and she didn't want to break the hug. He could see the first ray of the sun color the sky. There were hues of orange purple and other shades of color, the birds chirping the morning hymn. Just the perfect atmosphere and the love of his life in his arms, that is when hears footsteps more alarmed than ever he tightens his grip on her almost choking her. Her lips her pressed on his bare body she couldn't help but flush with pleasure, her nose inhaling his essence. His breath ruffled her hair making her feel ticklish. For a moment she wanted to forget every reason they were separated and why she is angry with him? She is so lost in the moment that she can't here the footsteps of people nearing. Jalal sees his soldiers embarrassed with the way he is holding Jodha, their intimacy, he loosens his grip on her assured that's she is safe. Jalal is embarrassed and his checks turn red Jodha turns around and more red is added to her cheeks. Soldiers stand there not knowing what to do. Again all four hear the sound in the bush everyone is alarmed. The soldiers draw their swords out. That is when all see a rabbit a white one jump out from the bush. The soldiers smile at their foolishness and Jalal and Jodha could not sustain their laughter. They laugh as loudly as they could leave the soldiers to their amazement. Jalal manages to suppress his laughter and he eyes his soldiers to go and they leave but for Jodha it seemed impossible she sat on the ground and continues to laugh. Tears sprang out of her eyes for the first time in more than a month tears of happiness flowed down her cheeks. She held her tummy because it is hurting when she is laughing but she couldn't control while laughing she manages to say- Jallad tum khargosh(rabbit) se dar gaye. He looked at her wanting to capture this moment. After few minutes she's done with her laughter. Jalal gives her hand and she takes it and she gets up. They move in silence towards the tents.
