Actor Ravi Bhatia, who was last seen in Do Dil Bandhey Ek Dori Se, will take on from child artiste Ayaan Rahmani to play the grown-up Salim.

Interestingly, the actor is almost the same age as Rajat Tokas, who plays the central character of Akbar in historical show Jodha Akbar. Says a source, "Twelve actors were auditioned for the role, but the producer liked Ravi the most."

The time leap is expected to take place some time in December and the track in the future will focus on the trio of Akbar, Salim and Anarkali. The production house is in the process of finalizing the actress for the role of Anarkali.

As reported by us earlier, Chetan Hansraj, who was seen as Adham Khan earlier, will return as his own son Haider.
