Lack of passion is purely and purely a scripting and direction issue - and If BT is actually believing that people want less romance, then they have lost it ! how did JA become so successful initially, the sword fight scene, the boat ride, the chori chori dance dekha in Amer.. The removing a strand of hair from jos face - none of these had too much physicality , but they are epic love scenes and still etched on our minds. The Ben track,Jo JA were in a massive fight, but still TRPs very really high, due to scenes like jos back hug, Jalal admiring g Jo as she prepared leap for Ben ... I mean romance was always there even if the Jo JA were unaware of it.
And I don't buy the argument about a sad phase of their lives, sorrow brings loved ones closer, and togetherness only increases, but it's just that cvs can't come up with right kind of togetherness- I mean just how difficult is it to show Jalal waking up with Jo and just admiring her face, his face full of sorrow, gratitude, love, care - rajat will nail it, and it would so beautiful to watch him feel comforted just by watching her.
How can they not show, Jo JA discussing about their own mortality, it is a very obvious reaction when we witness someone close to us dies,or even Jalal discussing the values he has learnt from Adgaah Saab and his talks of passing this on to his children. These are not romantic scenes per se, but don't they show togetherness, I would pick these anyway over sharif ke roving hands and Ruk ki twisted eyebrow !
