I have been looking at this story and it basically follows more or less characterisation of jehangir aka salim's life
Here are a few examples
Akbar loves woman is wayward etc till Jodha comes
Salim was wayward so Akbar sent him to warfield to learn discipline
Akbar fell in love with Jodha and then does not look at other women(they have not shown any marriage of his yet after jodha, its as if jodha was his 300th wife but in reality she was his 5th wife)
Salim fell in love with Nur Jahan then never married
Akbar does not respect or listen to mom hamida
Jehangir does not listen to Akbar or avoids whatever he says
Akbar is women's man in sense whatever wives say he listen
Jehangir was a woman's man he always listen to moms and wives
The woman who changes and controls Akbar life is Jodha
The woman who changes and controls Jehangir was Nur Jahan
Now Ruqaiah may ask one of the twins from his 3rd wife Jodha(in serial 3rd wife) and Akbar will give and Jodha will cry and Ruqaiah may not allow her close to that twin etc
In history Ruqaiah asked Khurram who was Jehangir and his 3rd wife Jodha's child. I am not sure if she allowed Jodha and Jehangir access to Khurram or not but definetly he was not allowed to celebrate Diwali, holi and rakhi with his parents. He was brought up in typical Mughal way without exposure to his mothers hindu culture.
Next they may show Ruqaiah not allowing Jodha to meet the twin. In history also the real Jodha may have had limited access to her only son Khurram as she was in jehangir mahal while khurram stayed at ruqaiah palace.
Akbar gets emotional and keep crying even in public while in real history he hardly cried 3-4 times in public
Jehangir was an emotional man and could cry even in court or public place without a thought for his stature as cobnveyed in writings by foreigners. Even kids playing gilli on streets could move him to tears remembering luxury of a normal childhood which he lacked
Akbar is shown as not so street smart many times and requires other help to know conspiracy
Jehangir was not a street smart human and could be fooled by family, friends and strangers as given from his life history
Akbar was recently kidnapped and hostage and tortured by abul mali and jodha made war and saved him
Jehangir was hostage to mahabat khan for 6 months or so in real history and nur jahan made war and saved him by her brain tactics
Jehangir's characteristic as a not street smart, emotional, wife dependent, required hand holding etc etc all characters are being shown in Akbar in this serial while all know about real Akbar.
Real Akbar never allowed maham to see adham corpse, never got emotional and took control of empire after atagah's death, he was no nonsense and maham could not dare speak to him forget shout and curse his babies in front of him. He was not emotional fool and did not suffer people like maham easily. His wives may not have adviced him as regularly, he depend on his navratnas and his own brain than his wives, ruqaiah would not dare play games like ones in serial, jodha would not dare give him bashans on right and wrong, adham would not dare shout at him everywhere etc. I am sure next they will show salim misbehaving and nafarmani's. In real life yes he was nafarman sometimes but misbehaving he would not dare do that to akbar. When he returned to mourn hamida the fact that Akbar slapped him in public yet he never make an issue of that shows that Akbar always had an upper hand in the relation as father. Also that jehangir did not make issue of his public slap and putting in jail for a week or so for killing abul fazl means he was not that rebellious too. Imagine if shah jahan did that to Aurangzeb or Hamida did that too Akbar would they dare even if their kids were wrong?
These are all chracateristics of jehangir he easily forgive man singh, Aziz koka, Rahim for rebelling and trying to kill him, his wives would dominate him especially nur jahan, even his sons would take liberty of acting disloyal like khusrau, khurram and shariyar because they know father loves them.
So CVs are highly inspired by Jehangir life history and showing his personality as Akbar
