Samanika,

Hi :) Do you feel Abhay is referring to the leap? 😊

He really believes that there will be no real long-term leap right now.

Actually, right now, the Mughal Sultanat is in a state of transition. The Old Guard is giving way to the New Order. 😊

We saw Atga Khan dying today. Tomorrow, going by the precap, Jalal finishes off Adham Khan.

Forty days after this, Maham should go.

Atga and Maham - they were with Humayun and later with Jalal. They saw Jalal being born and growing up in front of their eyes and becoming an emperor at the tender age of 13. They have been with him since his father died.

Maham became overambitious and turned disloyal to Jalal. But Atga maintained his loyalty to Jalal right till the end. It is mentioned somewhere that Atga had once saved the life of Humayun also.

Once these people go, they will be replaced by the likes of Aziz Koka, Man Singh, etc -- the "Young Turks" brigade (not to be confused with Turkish people). We are already witnessing Man Singh come into his own. There was one more Rajvanshi with Man Singh and Munim Khan today. Seems someone who is going to be important soon.

This period and the next few years were full of political conspiracies against Jalal within and outside the court. There were wars and rebellions. The people in the court changed from only Mughal to people from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. It was a highly eventful albeit turbulent period in the life of Jalal. Esp as Jalal was now without the crutches of Maham or Atga.

This period marked the end of the Petticoat Government and the Rise and Rise of Akbar and the Mughal Sultanat.

During this time, the one person who emerged as the rock in Akbar's life and supported him at all times and under all circumstances was Jodha. She became his emotional anchor, his Wali Ni'maat. 😊

This is the start of not only the journey of Akbar the Great but also the journey of Jodha-Akbar towards eternal and abiding love.

They withstood many storms together - both political and personal (the loss of their kids) - and emerged as one soul in two bodies. Now on, we don't need leaps. 😊The real history itself is so exciting and eventful that all tracks now on should be exceptionally thrilling and enticing.

What a fantastic post. It is so good and so uplifting, that I will give it a few more reads and then give my views.

In the meantime, regarding today's episode.

Agreed, the episode today was a bit rushed but it was still fast paced and entertaining. As for the hurry to show Atgah's death, we must understand that the Mahachuchak, Nigar, Khaiber and Atifa tracks have taken a toll on the TRP's.

Even last week's TRP's are hardly expected to be great, since ZEE and Ekta, in their desire for secrecy, had Jalal maintain his obnoxious persona till the middle of Thursday's episode. So, the ratings support for last week will come from just 1 day, at maximum 2. They needed this Atgah track, because death of a main character always boosts ratings.

We need to be positive, it is only now after such a long time, we see the return of the Teda Emperor. That is a good omen.

The real journey of Jodha Akbar is only just starting . The characters who are leaving the show now, like Maham or Adham had very little to do in the married life of Akbar and Jodha. More important characters await entry like Birbal, Abul Fazl, Salim(hopefully only the baby version), etc.

Donjas

@bold: Abhay and I discussed that track and reached the conclusion that there was no secrecy involved. The track was originally meant to be different (going on the line of the Delhi noble and his wife's story). It was later changed to what we ultimately saw because Atifa was just so unpopular and the show would have really committed suicide if Jalal had been shown to have married a divorced lady for love. 😊

I wonder if EK could not show this event, how she plans to show Akbar's political marriages. Or she may skip them altogether.

Yeah, in fact, we can even say his death and that of Adham / Maham has been delayed rather than rushed.

Atga, Todarmal and Jalal knew of Adham's embezzlement long back. Still they kept quiet without taking any action against him. In between, other tracks were mixed up and theAtga/Adham track got pushed behind.

Anyway it was shown well in today's episode. 😊

I did not like Jalal in the Atifa track. But the Jalal I saw today in the episode and the precap is the kind of Jalal I want to see. Today we saw both sides - his romantic persona as well as the kingly persona that thought on its feet. 👏

Aanchal,

Jodha and Jalal never drifted apart. Jodha was described as Jalal's shadow and Jalal himself called her his Wali Ni'mat or divine blessing. 😊

In fact, it was the turmoil in court / empire, the loss of trusted aides and the loss of their first few babies that brought them even closer together. Jalal now had no one to lean on for emotional support or share his personal grief with except Jodha. Similarly, Abhay himself mentioned (in another thread) how Jodha's world began and ended with Jalal.

They faced all the crises that occurred in the turbulent transition phase together and even undertook pilgrimages together to pray for offspring. When Jodha was shifted to FS for the delivery of Salim, Akbar still visited her in spite of the turbulent political atmosphere. 😳 When Akbar went on wars, Jodha accompanied him everywhere, even when she was pregnant.

What more proof do we need of their togetherness?

Anisha,

It was Jodha who supported him equally in the tough times and the good times. That's the theme and the gist of the post made by Abhay. 😊
