I think she envisioned that Jalal would be removed from the throne and, as he himself had indicated, accept that fate, perhaps after a rousing speech about mohabbat!
In this scenario, Jalal would be focused on Atifa, and would neither be any special help nor hinderance in the path of MA and Adham. Now, MA+AK would have to deal with other contenders, for sure, but would also start with the initial advantage of being in the possession of the capital, its qila, its stock of weapons, etc.
However, Ibrahim Lodi had the same starting advantage against Babur, Humayun against Sher Shah Suri, and Hemu against Jalal+BK. So that is not the deciding factor, just one factor. If the scheme had succeeded, there would have been some kind of civil war and we can't know how it would have gone and who would have emerged as the ultimate victor.
For all its flaws, the scheme was a lot better than anything AK + SD ever came up with in all of their drinking+planning sessions. 😊
