And that is why he will not go back on his word

Does she not look upset in fridays episode??
She was lulled into a sense of complacency reagardig her relationship with jalal as jalal had come for her and then stood by her in front of awam...however her relief proves to be short lived when jalal asks about atifa to ruk the moment he enters the palace...did you see jo's face then...was that not misery?...
...by public humiliation i do not mean DEK...the fact that jalal has discarded jodha for atifa is common knowlede...jalal has made a public display of his affections(whether thats deliberate or not is not the issue here) ...everybody knows ...from the harem, atgah, shariff, adham,,,, all officials, even bandis in the palace know...is that not public enough??...does that not make jodha an object of ridicule in the palace??...is this not humiliation for a woman??...is jalals duty restricted to protecting jodha's honour and dignity only in front of the awam and not in his own home, inside the palace???
Here jalal himself is guilty of violating her dignity by his acts of omission...isnt this ironic that he blames jodha for publicly humiliating him by saving kz and yet he, who is so conscious of his own honour and dignity, is oblivious to the fact that he has stripped jodha off her honour and dignity by his acts and words of indiscretion??...

this is where I differ. He stripped her honour and dignity by his words and his acts? His honour and dignity has suffered. Not hers from any angle I can see. Another person can never strip us of these things, only our own behaviour affects our own honour and dignity in the eyes of others.

blackvelvet I'll ask you to look at it this way, if I may... why did Atgah Khan react so much when seeing Jallu pawing atifa in the DEK and elsewhere...? Because Jalal's behaviour did not look good...it was very damaging to the shahenshah's reputation...such as it is...😆

I agree that more than jodha, jalal has fallen in the eyes of most, infact he is subterrenean for me right now...but you know though it is true that *you are the keeper of your own dignity*,,,...but inspite of that we fell insulted at times by the words and acts of others dont we?...jodha is no exception...it is insulting and very painful for her to be so let down by that one person she loved and trusted the most...and there is no effort on jalals side to soften the blow...yet...
btw do really appreciate your attempts to make light of a very trying situation...like your sense of humour 😉

Ofcourse you right...and looking bad is part of jalals plan as how else will he be accused of zinakari etc...but all sm saying is the collateral damage here is jodha...that neednt have been, jalal could have handled this more responsibly...
Waiting for that b**** to be bumped off by the invisible *powers that be*... 😆

Yes...I agree his anger is justified for her having violated rules a number of times , but his very visible detachment towards her (not a sense of immediate relief after having found her after 2 days, after having seen her lose her life during the cliff) is NOT at all appreciable. His choice of words whenever he has talked with her since Atifa entered and even on Friday like -- do you think I cannot think and make decisions (he repeated that twice) makes me feel a if he is really frustrated with her behaviour and venting. The Atifa angle and this issue with Jodha is different I feel and his behaviour with her is not at all justifiable irrespective of the plan he carries.
Hi there. joined the forum today...And I have been silently reading the updates and comments in this thread😊.

Sorry, but even I would like to differ. When he said I love you no more -- he killed her pride and heart of being his most beloved. When he said let our children know what kind of woman I married -- he killed her respect as a lady and to-be mom in front of his and her eyes. Isn't her dignity as a respectful woman tarnished here?. When he said what did you do for me but only have taken advantage of my wishes --- hasn't he lowered her esteem, pride, love in one big shot by negating her previous good deeds towards him?? When he said you don't deserve my love --- what else is left for a woman who always puts him first above her?...Yes, I agree that everyone has their dignity in their hands, but I don't agree that others cant strip your honour and dignity, or else we wouldn't have read of so many gruesome mental, emotonal and physical tortures to women in everyday newspaper and TV.😊

he betrayed her trust in him by saying he doesn't love her, yes. And from that moment on she went a bit numb and nothing mattered for a while...to point of suicide. But she bounced back.

if you mean her self-worth was damaged, yes her trust was abused, and she was emotionally abused. On that much I agree completely.

But by Friday, she has recovered her confidence in herself at least, let's hope she doesn't start doubting the meaning of her own existence and go into despair again.
