Hi All,
I tend to be a silent reader on this forum, I follow JA on and off and initially the show had caught my attention for being a period show, I've seen JA the movie so I was curious to see how the show would be treated and what creative liberties would be taken.

I'm extremely disappointed - last year from the start of the show till the Benazir track - I felt the show had pretty good momentum. Rajat and Paridhi did a wonderful job and did full justice to the characters and emotions. We saw an eloquent transformation of Jalal from being a heartless, ruthless warrior and effective emperor - though I did have some reservations with his blind trust on Maham Anga - it could be justified since Jalal did ascend the throne at the tender age of 14 and Bairam Khan and Maham Anga essentially phantom ran the empire with Jalal posing as a puppet of sorts in their hands.

With the Rajvanshi vs Mughal clash - Jodha's marriage to Jalal as a political move to save the Rajvanshi prisoners/commoners - Jodha's fiery, courageous person and kind heart served as her guide while navigating through the unknown land of Agra.

I really enjoyed JA back then - there was a level of intelligence (i know that sounds strange for an Ekta Kapoor production and hindi soap in general) when it came to character definition - Jalal was consistent in his political ambitions and was shown to be forward thinking - in guessing and countering his opponent(s) Jodha matched him when it came to handling people - she essentially picked up from where he left off and her inherent goodness and sense of justice brought a new dimension to Jalal's dealings and vision.

Unfortunately somewhere down the line the show lost steam - my first big disappointment was during the Tasnem track where Jalal was about to divorce Ruqaiya since they had a child marriage - it seemed that Jalal did not have any back up plan and had it not been for Jodha's intervention - Jalal and his BEK would have separated.

Now I'm just floored at how inconsistent the characters are - Jalal who was of such strong character/ presence of mind/ political acumen is now a puppet - in an effort to highlight Jodha's goodness and intelligence they've reduced Jalal to a brainless puppet and Jodha to a preachy/righteous savior. Now we see a royal emperor lusting over a married woman that too from the enemy camp who frankly doesn't seem all that attractive to me.

What is going on here! Can we please get our original Jalal back who would struggle with the new feelings in his heart when he was in the process of discovering his "dil".
The tracks are weaker - the clothes are of lesser grandeur - most of Ruqaiya and Maham Anga's ill deeds get glossed over, tracks are not properly closed - extremely disappointing.

Do share your thoughts guys
