@raksha...with ruqaiyya it is all about power..she had power over jalal ..he was at her beck and call ...remember the initial days that she would take all her time and he would wait and wait for her and even when they did talk it was about harem issues ..ther ehas never been any emotional connect between them hence you see jalal describing him as lonely and seeking emotional support in MA then jo...but never ruqaiyya...

with ruqaiyya she has created an illusion of power around her not allowing emotions to flow through..and this must have started from the time he brought home the first woman and spend nights with her...she must have realized she has no power to stop him but took arrogance in the part that he did come back to her...but that also created an insecurity that what if someone does come in his life and he does not return and that happened with jodha...

ruqaiyya may not understand the love between jodha and jalal but she sees it and since she presumably owned jalal she wants to own that feelings also ..if he has a heart she wants it ,if he can love she wants to be loved...this was how she was with jalal always...SB had rightly explained to jodha...she asserts rights over him and he over the time let her ...

ruqaiyya does love him but it comes with his power ,throne and her power over him...she is stuck in her childhood and he has grown out of his...what he seeks is not a tantrum throwing 5 yr old he needs to appease but a woman who walks with him and is his equal and shares his happiness and pain...and this he found in jodha...a relationship ,a companion ..

ruqaiyya refused to grow up and lost her chance...even if it was not jodha that place would have remained empty in his life...ruqaiyya could never have taken that place...

Yes Sunny, when she got pregnant for the first time, she was happy to be MUZ than a mother, I don't know what came first, the fact that she never had Jalal's heart and took power as a convenient substitute, or desired and got power and hence never bothered to earn his love. Remember when one beghum taunted her when Jodha had asked for Moti's life as per the ferman, and she had remarked, "For me harem is important", I think the fact that she lost the harem once and Jalaal in a way didn't raise a finger in her support, jolted her to reality, and now she considers that she can have power only if Jalaal is close to her.

it is true...she wants to be the first in his life..remember she had said in jo fake pregnancy track that she wanted the firs tto give him a child and yes she wants to be the MUZ as well..she was all about power and till few months back jalal too was the same and for her that was enough...the thing is they had a huge communication gap in their relationship hence they both could never understand what the other wants nor could fulfill it...they kept on pretending ...ruqaiyya loves jalal the emperor hence when she seeks him she seeks the power with him and she does not know anything other than that coz that is how she was brought up..given power when she did not understand the meaning of it ..then the desperation to hold onto it in the sea of woman entering his life and then vanishing in the harem..she did not want to be one of them...

your last line sums it up..she never displeases jalal coz she does not want to lose her power...and she wants to be close to him coz of the same...if one goes the other too goes...

True, in the earlier episodes, I used to feel that she used to rile up Jalaal whenever she could, be it when that bandhi got pregnant, or when Jalaal wanted to punish Bairam Khan, and make him violent towards those who were not in her good books.

About the women in his life, no-one had the power to be close to him thanks to her. The only exceptions were Salima and Jodha. Salima, because first she was also Jalaal's cousin and secondly, because the nature of their relationship is not at all connubial, and well Jodha has never played by her rules.

The biggest irony of this serial is, Ruqaiyya calls him Jalaal but, loves the Shahenshah, whereas, Jodha calls him Shahenshah, and loves the Jalaal in him.😊

Lovely debate guys ... Am running in and out of the house so cannot respond to all of it...

- I feel bad for Ruqs because she never realized the full potential of what she could have had ...and settled for power ...
- ... Till she saw Jodha get it ... Love ... And now she wants it ...

Raksha, loved your irony in bold!

exactly..this is how they both perceive him...

and ruqaiyya could never risk letting another woman close to him coz there was the question of the non existing dil...she always feared it but never showed it...the other women would mock her in initial days too

yes she used to for her own benefit too...with power comes games too and ruqaiyya was smart earlier
😆

and with jodha everything went west for her ...jalal was never honest with ruqaiyya about jodha ..from the start...she till now does not know his 3 day visit to have a look at her 😆..she never knew about her till he brought her to Agra...she repeatedly asked why he married her and he repeatedly said the same thing..she was not convinced but she took him at face value and really thought he did not like her...her first mistake, her second mistake inspite of repeatedly being warned by MA she still was riding her high horse...third mistake ,she was too busy bossing over the harem to see the budding love story right under her nose...and now it is way too late that she woke up and landed straight into the hot pan 😆

Yes Divi @bold, exactly like Sunny said, she's still a child, she wants everything around her. For now it's Jalaal's love or rather attention. Wonder what it will be if she ever gets it. 😕
